Hurrah! I have been stalking this on eBay for a couple of years as the vendor (a reputable dealer/company) kept listing it as it failed to reach a price he was happy with and that price was too high for me to take the plunge, the problem almost certainly being the fact that it is a tiny size and not resizable: Europe 46. I am happy with the price I paid although the timing isn't the best as this is proving to be an expensive year (wedding in June), however my convenient reasoning is that I could wait 10 years and not see a ring like this in my tiny size come up, and it would be over £8,000 new.
I have the original Cartier paperwork showing it was purchased in 2007. The photos don't do it justice, the sparkle is extraordinary and it throws off all the colours of the rainbow. The diamonds are E/F colour and it has a 950 Platinum hallmark in addition to the Cartier mark.
I wanted it to wear with my rhr which was my mother's and paternal grandmother's engagement ring. I think it works perfectly as at 3mm wide and 2 mm deep, it doesn't compete but nor does it get lost. That bright sparkly band really sets of the dark untreated sapphire. I also love it on it's own but probably won't really get to wear it like that as I wear my engagement ring and mother's ring every day.
I have also photographed it with my engagement ring, but as I thought, I think it detracts from the solitaire. I prefer my plain to-be wedding band on that hand, and I'm hoping that at some point in the future, I may get the matching De Beers 2mm diamond eternity band to give me the option of switching it up. I've tried it on in the store and it looks good, - although I do love the plain set on its own perhaps best.
Rambling a bit as I am very excited to share. I don't habitually buy myself expensive jewellery, I feel a bit funny about it but I am delighted.
