I love the color of good peridot. It's just so luscious and fresh! So when Gary at Finewater Gems posted a 7.1mm stone that matched the 8.5mm stone I'd bought from him some time back *exactly* - I snapped it up! But then, of course, what's a girl going to wear in her ears?? So I gave him a call and was lucky enough to hear that he had more rough and was able to cut me 2 x 6.5mm matching stones that were almost flawless. The largest stone is VVS and the 7.1mm stone is, indeed, flawless. So these are beautiful, BRIGHT, fresh, clean looking gems.
They show different hues in different lighting, but the first photo is what I see most often.*** Please make allowances for the difference in color between the 2 smallest gems; they're on slightly different angles and it makes all the difference to what color the camera picks up. In real life, they're identical, and were cut from the same rough. The largest stone, being deeper, is slightly darker, but since all of these are going into substantial halos, I don't think it will make much difference.
All the usual provisos about crappo photos and not being able to capture the color and etcetcetc apply. And monumental apologies for forgetting - YET AGAIN! - to clean them before photographing them! Let's just say that I'd had bbq chicken this evening for dinner....
***Actually, I take that back. I'd say they sit almost exactly half way between photo #1 and photo #2 for color.
