Hey Everyone,

I am starting a new Project...looking for a great Vendor to help me find a 3-3.5 Carat G-I, VS or SI clean Pear Diamond. Should I engage White Flash? Should I go on my own and research Rare Caret and Adiamor? I know Pears are tricky due to Ratio, Bow tie effect and potential light leakage. This will be for a Ring. I am not 100 on the budget yet, thinking under $37K. What about Jon at DG, is his Ring Concierge service come with a premium fee? I am absolutely NOT in a rush, but wanted to get an idea of where I should start. My expertise and experience has been in older cuts, so this is a different beast.

TIA!

Exciting! Sorry I know nothing about modern pear cut diamonds so I can't help there but I am excited to see what you plan to do, please share your plans for it!

If it were me, I'd reach out to Continental Diamonds. They have a really good upgrade program just in case that is something that is of interest. They can also bring in pears for you, check their stats and send you videos and additional images before you purchase.

When I know 100%, lol!! I will be sure to update you all!! I’m very early in the process, so still researching! Which just so happens to be my favorite part, haha!

Oh, this sounds amazing @RunningwithScissors!! I’m def going to look into them. I feel like you had an interest in a pear pendant? Did you ever complete that project? If you did I would love to dive into your thread if you have one?

I am curious, did you work directly with them, I went in their site and noticed you can review their inventory… so I assume scheduling an online appointment is the best way to work with them? I’m so excited to have a new vendor option, I had never heard of them but their reviews look stellar!

I have a pear diamond on my forever wishlist. Last year I thought I was going to be able to purchase a starter one for Christmas 2022 so I contacted Continental and had them look for one for me in my spec range. I know @Wink who used to own HPD and sell CBI MRBs. (He sold my Dainty, my engagement ring which I adore). He now is affiliated with Continental and recommended them. The team there found several promising pear candidates, but unfortunately the money I was planning on using for the project didn't materialize. (My DH and I run a consulting business and a major client, as in a US government laboratory, ended up not paying us for a project we completed for them, so we were unable to have Christmas last year at all. It sucked royally. The lab eventually paid us -- 4 months late.) So I wasn't able to purchase the pear. But I had an excellent experience with Continental and will again use them for this project some day.

Oh, gosh that does suck! Ugh, what a bummer, but at least at the very end you were paid! So unfair that, that happened! Thank you for the update, I plan to contact them!
