I have been getting killed at work so I haven't been here in ages! It's so nice to see everyone's pretties it's been a great distraction!

Several months ago (heck, might be a year at this point) iI got a gorgeous red/pink cushion cut spinel from Dana and I immediately knew I wanted to set it in a James Meyer-esque setting (iI have wanted one forever). At some point along the way even earlier than the spinel I had found two OECs and was hanging onto them, wasn't sure what to do with them as they were fairly mismatched (evenot the seller said so).

Well, today I picked up my ring and I just had to share since you guys are the few people who understand the feeling when something (specifically, a colored stone ring) comes out exactly how u wanted it. My jeweler actually is sort of my neighbor and has done lots of custom work for me and he is just awesome - Brian at BSK designs (hes also on etsy) and I am totally bummed that he is moving the florida! :(( I will still ship him my stuff to work on but I LOVED talking jewelery with him when I had time and he and his family are just lovely.(plus, I didn't have to worry about shipping stones...)

I asked him to set it as low as possible, so instead of a high bridge, he cut a notch in the band so the spinel culet sits inside it...
yay! And super fine milgrain on the bezels

Anyway, here is my ring! I can't remember the exact stats but around 7mm for the spinel and about .4 and .35 Each for the diamonds. Unplated 14k white gold, size 5 1/8. I'm in love with it and it glows red to reddish pink depending on the light.

Lovely. Looks great on your finger. Isn't it great when you get what you want and love it?

Another shot that doesn't show the red but does show the milgraining...fir whatever reason the images on my camera look better than how they show up in the post...

Congratulations. I have a very similar pink spinel from Dana

A jeweler for a neighbor? My you are lucky! Congrats on your ring - I like the milgrain detail and colors. It must feel so good to actually set your stones. :))
