A long-overdue "thank you" to Pricescope and to Mark Turnowski at ERD! And, of course, to my wonderful fiance.
I''m a brand-new poster and long-time Pricescope visitor. Just had to write about my experience with ERD -- for anyone who is considering them, please do give them a call... I can''t say enough good things. I was very lucky - my office is just five blocks away from ERD in midtown Manhattan (not sure that''s a good thing!) After the very first time I met with him, I couldn''t imagine buying my ring anywhere else. I actually started out considering ovals and radiants, and after Mark showed me some beautiful cushions, I knew that was it for me! Mark''s a gentleman and a true professional. He guided me through the entire diamond and ring selection with incredible patience and expertise -- and went the extra mile, far exceeding my expectations. Gary works with him, and he was great -- he helped me over a weekend when Mark was away.
Specs on the ring and diamond:
Ring: Vatche Surprise Diamond Setting with Knife Edge Band in 18K White Gold. Size 4. "Surprise" round brilliant diamonds are around 10 pts each (I think).
Diamond: Cushion Brilliant 2.07 ct H SI, Table 66%, Depth 67%, VG Polish, G Symmetry, No Fluorescence, 1.11 L-W Ratio. Hand selected by Mark.
The ring gets quite a bit of attention -- very eye catching in person, it''s substantial and solid, with a wider band (around 3.5-4mm @ widest point, tapering narrower at the bottom). We went into Cartier to look at men''s wedding bands, and the associate who was helping us complimented the ring and said it looked at first as if there are diamonds on the band, because of the way the knife-edge flashes light! The knife edge is subtle and is very comfortable. The H color is very white face-up -- a diamond-savvy friend initially guessed it was an "E" color.
Thanks again to everyone @ Pricescope!
