New setting-- for Pink Tourmaline

I first fell in love with this setting a few years ago when i went to the Miami Antique and jewelry show-- thought ab it ever since.... and finannnly this year contacted the vendor-- went down to see him with some other pricscopers and SCORE!-got it -- I had it made in 18kt ... but the plat version was not that much more... still under $500. but i saved more by going with 18kt-- below $400.00

I don''t think I''ve seen that setting yet - it''s stunning! Yes, put the tourm in there, but I swear, you could put a cough drop in there and it would look good. And good heavens, you''re on a roll!

Blinky, did you have the setting made for this particular stone, or just a general 7mm size? And I''d love to see even a bad pic of the octogon tourm in there.

Cellentani: I just had it made as is--- the sample i played with was plat with the same size opening.-- I think i got the pink stone after i got the setting? i forget

The setting is very lovely and I like the design but unfortunately, I don’t think it will suit the pink tourmaline well. My concern is that the white metal might bring out any brown or gray undertones in the stone. I think a yellow metal will highlight the play of orange and pink of the tourmaline. Have you placed it next to something in yellow or rose?

LOVE the new setting. Very cool. And I just love the whole set thing you have going on. Earrings look FAB Congrats!!
