New stuff I've been lax about posting

I've purchased a few things but RL has been too busy to take and edit photos but with the long weekend, I got caught up.

First up is a 1.8ct sunstone from Gene. This sunstone has been on his site for a while and I've always loved his pic of it... looked kind of like a spiderweb. Then he put it on sale and I couldn't resist any more. The funny thing about this purchase is that he totally forgot to seal the envelope; the paper strip was still covering the sticky part. Good thing the stone made it intact.

Next are the things I bought from Barry's August sale. I don't know anything about intarsia but on one side you can kind of feel where the join between the agate and jade is. It's a lovely big piece and I really enjoy wearing it... very versatile. The one thing I don't like about it is that it has a hook clasp and tends to get caught in my hair.

The chrysoprase frog is cute but it is hard to see the details, or at least with my crappy vision it is. I don't have any plans for this, I just bought it to have it.

Last up is the rutile briolette. I love the way the rutile swirls around inside.

I've also posted a new (old) watch in the Jewelry Pieces forum. It's 17 jewels but none showing so I figured this wasn't the forum for it.

Thanks for all the photos. Rutilated quartz is always cool to look at. I am getting a sunstone myself and it's fun to look at your gems. Gene's cutting always makes for a beautiful gem.

Love all your new pieces. The frog is great and can be part of a gemstone animal collection. I have a ruby in zoisite bear that could go there.

Great photos! That frog is too cute. The quartz is so neat-I think I'll need to get some later. That pendant is really cool and the sunstone is soo pretty!

The sunstone will make such a pretty ring -- it looks so nice against your hand. I LOVE the little froggie! He has so much personality. I have an amber cat that was my grandmother's, love it to pieces. It's so well modeled you expect it to move any second. Your frog is a beautiful green, too.

Thanks all for the lovely compliments. The froggy is cute but unfortunately I have no place to display him so he sits in his box on the shelf above my computer. If I leave him loose I'm afraid the cat will think "new toy!"

You’ve got a lot of very pretty goodies; the intarsia is very cool and so is the frog chrysoprase. Will the froggie be displayed or be a paperweight of sorts? Can’t go wrong with rutilated quartz either.

Heh, froggy is a bit too little to be used as a paper weight. His footprint is only about the size of a nickle. He'll stay in his little box until I figure out what to do with him.

I pouted when I saw the frog was gone from Barry's site! I'm so glad you got it though Kismet!! I had no idea what to do with it either but thought it was too cute!
