I just wanted to share some things I received recently from Etsy vendors. I'd highly recommend both of them, if you've been eyeing any items....

First is a pair of sapphire/rose gold earrings from yvonneraley. I'm not sure of the stats, as they were a Christmas present from my husband. Really love the "chunky" hexagon setting -- substantial but not clunky. The color is wonderful (to me at least!) -- blue with a touch of violet -- which is well complemented by the rose gold. If I HAD to quibble, I'd say that the gems are slightly windowed and that the earring posts are crooked. Neither is an issue when in the ear, however.

Ear shots are gross, :knockout: but you can really see the cutting here:

The second item is from JanishJewels. 10mm sugarloaf topaz w/ 18k bezel and argentium silver band. REALLY fast turn around time. I was basically lusting after this ring and it was created and shipped the next day! :cheeky:

A couple more shots of the topaz ring from Janishjewels. I love it!

Wow, I love both of your purchases! Is the topaz ring a full custom job?

Very much like the setting too and the color is gorgeous!

Gorgeous pieces and pics! I love both of those vendours.

pregcurious - The design was based on a sold item I dug up. I made a couple of tweaks and Jill sourced the stone for me. I do have a custom project w/ her I'm mulling over - a cool faceted chrysoprase that would look great in a YG bezel.... But it's so hard to decide on settings! When gems are still neatly lined up in their boxes, they're still so full of possibilities, ya know?

Thanks, JewelPhenom! She also does this hexagon style for pendants and rings, if you're interested. ;))

ilovegemstones - Thank you! I'm happy with both of my humble pieces. And re: the pics, I'm usually really terrible at jewelry pictures so I'm THRILLED to have discovered that white marble is a great set for gemstone pics. These were all taken at night. Can't wait to try the same setting while the sun's out!

Yes! That is so true.
