I've had too many sleepless nights with a 3 month old baby, which gave me too much time to read recent threads on gorgeous eternity bands & 5 stone bands. So when this popped up for sale I jumped on it, even though I had no plan on making a large purchase any time soon.
After reading some old threads and comparing specs, I suspect this was originally Niel's 5 stone ring she had custom made with JA. I wasn't around when she had this made nor when she sold it, but I love how unique it is with the graduated stones and it looks quite substantial on my hand. Makes me feel so glam!
Center is 0.84 VS1, sides are 0.32 & 0.15. All K color set in 14K unplated WG. It's my first experience with unplated WG too and I quite like it, it's kind of buttery and soft. I do notice the tint in some lighting but since my e-ring is a J, I prefer a similar range so they don't clash.
I was little worried about resizing as original size was 7.25 and I needed 5.25, and I wasn't sure how the stones will sit on top of my finger, but it looks ok and is pretty comfortable too. My only concern is that the center stone seems to have some kind of film on it so it looks cloudy, and after 2 soaks in soap & hot water I have not been able to remove it. Tomorrow I plan on bringing it to a local jewelry store to get it professionally cleaned, I hope it's just some tough grease and not other problems.
There are arrows despite the filmy surface which you can kind of see in this photo.
Setting is low profile and very comfortable. I plan on stacking it with plain white band as I love that look.
And since I had my big camera out today just to take pictures of my ring, here's a cameo appearance of my e-ring. 2.88ct J transitional cut from Erica. It's now been 3 months since I bought this (upgrade/replacement for 10 year anniversary for the original ring that was lost years ago) but I still can't believe it's mine. I must say, 5 stone ring on my right hand really goes well with my e-ring
