New to the list - looking for guidance

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the list and in the process of looking for the perfect diamond. I have two and am looking for your expert opinion on them!

Diamond one; 2.01 ct radiant, depth 75%, table 61%, girdle ex thin to thick, polish and symmetry good, color E, VS2, no culet, no fluor. $14,500.

Diamond two; 1.80 ct radiant, depth 65%, table 60%, girdle thin to thick, polish and symmetry good, color F, VS2, no culet, no fluor. $13,900.

Diamond two appears to be larger than diamond one, maybe because it is not quite so deep.

Are these reasonable prices and which one is a better buy?

First let me say that I don't know much about radiants, but just looking at the AGA cut chart for radiants found in the tutorial, I can see that the depth of stone #1 is way out of the preferred range. You'd really be wasting your money paying for a 2.01 stone to get the look of a 1.75. Also, an ex. thin to thick girdle is something to be avoided.

While stone #2 has far better depth, the price is very high compared to stones of similar caliber found on pricescope.

Hopefully, some others here who've done their radiant homework can offer more guidance.
