New year, new sapphire: Is this a tilt window, or something else?

Happy new year, all! I hope the start of 2021 finds you as healthy and happy as possible. Here is hoping it is a better year for us all.

Admittedly, I am more of a lurker than a poster. I reached out before in regards to my current sapphire (precision-cut, but quite dark in general, and blacks out in extremely dim lighting). I am doing my best to not let this bother me, with limited success! I love the sleepy antique cut, but have found that as of late, something a bit more vibrant strikes my fancy.. Ideally, I would set the current stone into a right-hand ring that my husband is designing for me.

In any event, I am looking around for another elongated cushion sapphire. Preferably pastel, no blacking out like my current stone. This is one of a very few that fit the color and size requirements at the same time.

If others have vendor recommendations, I'm all ears. I am just now putting feelers out, and as such have only tried a few vendors (Finewater Gems and Litnon). I have a few bookmarked from both vendors, and would prefer to keep the current 9x7 setting for the foreseeable future.

Here is a video of the stone. I only have 3 vendor pictures, but hope they help.. Specs are 3.5 carats, 9.7x7x5.2mm, VS clarity, unheated.

The third one in particular gave me pause. If it is a window due to perhaps being too shallow, could it be recut? If purchased, I would have it sent to AGL.

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

Sorry, I am not an expert on colored stones, but I do want to say that stone is very pretty to my eyes! There is a whole thread now about windowed stones that are loved by their owners, so sometimes it's just better to go with your gut.

I'm wondering if the culet is off center and that's why the images are that way? Do you have any pics with the table down? I would want to see that to be sure.

Thank you. I agree. I will message the seller and see what they say.

Thank you, I do not. But I will see if the seller has any more. I would also want to see that to be sure.

Yeah, I think the pavilion must be quite asymmetric. Usually it's not so obvious from the crown and I think the pale saturation really calls attention to it. Or it could be color zoning but it's so focal. The first and second photos look like they are flipped 180 degrees.

I don't think a vendor would use such unflattering photos if it were possible to get better ones.

I agree. I think a setting would close it up, but have concerns that it would appraise for less than my current sapphire. I think I’ll pass on it for now.
