It is transparent , its the back not the frontIt could be natural but dyed, synthetic or natural. I’ve never seen an emerald faceted like that however, and that leads me to think it’s some ornamental bead quality. Is it transparent?
Awwwww ok ..... , but thats the backside , u mind to see the front ??It’s very low quality and that missing chunk is damage. It’s probably dyed as well. I would return it for a refund. It’s not worth any money and setting it might lead to more bits breaking off because the gem is full of cracks and flaws. It may not even be real emerald. The cost of testing that is about $75 but even if real emerald the quality is so low it wouldn’t be worth that cost.
How much value is it if you say ? Its 3,6ct colombiaOk, the emerald looks “more like a natural emerald” BUT a huge hunk out of the gem is a significant flaw. It probably means the emerald is full of fissures / crystalline flaws and that drastically reduces its value and suitability for setting into jewellery and then wearing it.
It's worth very little. You can find heavily treated emeralds like that on eBay for less than $100. I would return it.How much value is it if you say ? Its 3,6ct colombia

I'm not sure it will survive a recut. And I also honestly don't think it's worth the price of a recut. I would just take this as a lesson learned. So if i want to use it as ring , can or should i cut it to smaller piece to remove the crack? Is that possible?
