Newbie in need of advice!

I am looking for a 2 carat round loose diamond.. Hoping I can get some advice on what actually makes the diamond worth the investment.. Clearly if you are willing to spend between 15-20k, you want some advice from a reliable source.. Also I would like to let the pros on here know I will be setting this diamond in this band from Tacori: HT2604RD10. Any help will be greatly appreciated, I believe in trusting the pros, so hopefully you guys can find me a ring for this lovely lady I have.. Thanks.. Alan

You have a nice budget - but I don't know if you'll get to 2ct without sacrificing either color or clarity.

Thanks for the reply.. What would u want color or clarity? I would assume color would be more important..

If you want to get a nice 2ct, I would, also look at the I SI1's (like efc8503 suggested). I have an I, and it looks plenty white to me. If color is something you can't compromise on, then you probably will have to get smaller than 2ct, if you want an Ideal cut stone. I love my I color and it allowed me to get the size I wanted, with a fabulous cut. Somethings gotta give, so it's up to you to decide which "C's" you can compromise on and still have what you think is a gorgeous diamond. Good luck with your search.

I will definitely look into the I color, SI1or 2.. Thanks for the advice! Any recommendations on fair priced diamonds online other then what was posted?
