Yup, another one of these posts! I've been lurking for months, and hopefully I found a winner. Would love some feedback just in case you see something that I am not.

I'm looking for a G VS2/SI1 somewhere between 1.25 and 1.5. I initially had a 1.26 EGL diamond (from a family friend) and when looking at it, I was not impressed at all! IAfter a few searches, I found PriceScope and quickly learned why I was not impressed (above 5 on the HCA, rated G and I could see yellow, can't remember the cut, but barely ANY bling).

A few days ago Whiteflash put up a new ACA - 1.531 G SI1. Pictures came out today. I have it reserved. If you look at the certificate, you'll notice twinning wisps as main inclusions. Did a few PS searches and found both great and bad stories with wisps; mainly all saying each stone is different.

I talked to WF and they told me it's eye clean (very helpful!). What do you all think?!

Numerous thanks to all the posters for their help! Even reading other people's posts like this help out newbies like me!

if eye clean, sounds good...how do you plan to set it?

IS/ASET images are top notch, very beautiful. you will have no worries on light return.

quiet wide area of the wisps, but they are very hard to see at the 10x image.

I'm not sure what the implications are withe wisps, other experts here can tell you.

Looks to be a beautiful stone...you cant go wrong with an ACA.

Thanks for the replies!

My parents neighbor who makes rings really wants to create the ring for us. We went to his shop, checked out a ton. If possible, I suggest people try on some different styles. There were rings that we saw in pictures and loved, but on her finger it just didn't look right.

We decided on something similar to this (ours is 6 prong, DG is a teacher and wanted the extra stability / peace of mind):
The 'Legato Micro Pave' Diamond Engagement Ring

Assuming all is good, I still need to work with him and WF to connect the dots, but am leaning towards having WF do the setting. Small fee, but less hassle.

The diamond looks good. I trust WF not to sell a diamond where whisps are a problem.

Have WF do the setting, it is safer for liability in the case of damage (they will take responsibility of their own diamond if it is damaged, but another jeweler will not) and they do very high quality work. And it is easier.

Ditto that!

Thanks everyone! I bought the diamond!! WF is going to do the setting and my jeweler is sending the ring directly to them; small setting fee, but as everyone said, WF takes liability just in case something goes wrong.

All the posters here (this thread and all the others) really helped. Although this is only my third post, I read hundreds of threads on every topic. I love the help me find a ring threads; reading the what's good/bad/different opinions. It really helped me know what to look for and how to digest all the data that's out there.

Thanks again! I plan on my next post to be in the SMTB forum!
