@whitewave I know this is an old post, but I am actually curious about your recommendation for shipping jewelry. I’m selling a few pieces that are not included in my current Jewelers Mutual policy, and I know that FedEx and UPS won’t insure jewelry. Would love to get your thoughts!
Under $5000 you can insure using USPS Priority Mail (and probably express). I have used USPS Registered Mail a few times for more valuable items. It is likely the safest way to send anything of value. It can take from a few days up to a couple of weeks regardless of what the estimated delivery date is, so keep that in mind if you use it. The other way is if you are sending something like a ring to be reset, sometimes the vendor will send you their shipping label (insured) and let you pay for that.
I am not friends with the person who posted it.
@twosanguinehearts Not whitewave, but I just shipped an item USPS Registered Mail and am on pins and needles waiting for it to move. It hasn't been scanned in 3 days. I believe this is the safest way for a person without business insurance to ship a valuable item, but it's very slow. Has anyone had experience shipping by USPS Registered Mail during COVID?
I'm sorry you and Amber had a falling-out.

Whilst I hope the driver is OK / sad for the event etc. What’s likely to happen to a diamond in this scenario. Not like it’s going to melt is it. Would they scoop up the detritus and repackage it?!
