Congrats, that will be so much fun! I remember the look on my boyfriend''s face when I tried on a setting for the first time at a B&M...make sure you look for your BF''s reaction too. :) It''s something like wow-that''s-beautiful and I-can''t-wait-till-she''s-wearing-it-all-the-time.

That''s amazing news!! Hopefully he''ll spring a surprise proposal on you while you''re over there!!

Whoo!! Hope you find something amazing!!

Yay! He remembered the october trip! How fun! You must give a detailed report when you get back. If you go to Tiffanys, please try on that channel set one you talked about earlier....I want to live vicariously through you

Good Luck! That ring browsing step is always a big one for guys. That would be awesome if he just decided to be spontaneous and propose to you the day you go looking! Good Luck and I hope that you find some that you both like!!

I reported on our diamond shopping excursion in Pandora''s thread on Graff - over here!

Ladies you''re all so sweet with your well wishes and hopes for spontaneous proposals! I''m afraid you''ll be waiting on this one... we have a deal that he won''t do anything until I have grad school finished and done with. I''m scatterbrained enough as it is without having a big sparkly distraction on my mitt as I''m supposed to be typing up my thesis!!!

He does say though that now he''s going to start reading Pricescope and learning up on diamonds. He was teasing me about what his user name is going to be - threatening to use another user name that I use on another forum, cheeky boy!

London was fabulous and we might be going back again next month!!! I was reminded of how much I loved it when I lived abroad years ago. Funny but our trips to America don''t inspire the wanderlust in me quite the same as heading Europe-bound does! We met up with some friends, went to the Tower of London (the Queen is a lucky lady, all those jewels!), went out for fancy dinners, and saw a West End show. It was a brilliant weekend, I had a ball.

Miscka that square cut channel set ring is so different in person! It''s adorably dainty, much more so than I expected, and the square cut stones glitter rather than sparkle around the centre stone. It''s very understated, very elegant. On the downside, the prongs are much bigger than on the solitaire, and when holding two circa 1.5ct stones side by side, the one in the classic solitaire setting looks noticeably bigger. The way the setting is done on the channel set ring as well, the prongs make the stone look slightly square. It''s quite a different look. Sadly, I can''t say I was as sold on it in person!

In the end I''m more confused than ever... I didn''t really like any of the Tiffany settings, although maybe some of that was down to the appalling sales assistant we had to battle with to get to see them. I had a lot more fun in Cartier and seriously couldn''t decide between all their different settings. I thought their rings were daintier and more elegant on my hand than Tiffany''s were. I found out my ring size in Tiffany is a 6 and in Cartier is a 50. I still have no idea what it is in British sizing! I have learned one thing for sure though - and that''s that I''m a total size whore! There was a 3.20ct ring in Cartier that looked perfectly modest on my hand
