So I''m transforming myself from a lurker to a poster.
We''re going shopping again tomorrow at the local B&M where he knows he wants to buy the ring. I had my heart set on a Jeff Cooper lattice style ring, round with pear sides. Then I found out how much the setting costs -- almost half of our budget. I know settings can wear out and break and need replacing, but I don''t think I''ll ever want to upgrade the center stone. (If I study hard in law school and become a high-powered, well paid attorney, I may make it a side stone in a three stone ring, but I''m getting a little ahead of myself there.
) So we''re going back to the drawing board a little bit, and I''m going to try to find a setting I like that will allow us to spend more on the center stone. I am extremely picky, so wish me luck!
