I’m in the market for a 7 carat tennis bracelet. I’ve had a difficult time finding many to try on in person, so may have to purchase one online. I’m curious what is the appropriate number of diamonds for a 7 carat? I’ve seen between 37-53 which is quite a range! I would assume a different number of stones would impact the overall look of the bracelet, but the pictures look very similar. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

How many inches?

Whiteflash is showing 39 stones for a 7-inch 7-carat 3-prong tennis bracelet..

X prong is showing 48 for 7 inch 7 carat...indicating that it depends on the kind of setting you want.

Hopefully, some PSers that have 7 carat TBs can give you exact numbers on theirs.

Yes, and the smaller the individual stone, the more diamonds it will take to make the bracelet at any particular given weight. You probably need to decide the size diamond you want and that will determine how many diamonds you need. Some have .05, some have .11, and some have .30 each. All depends on the look you are wanting - and how much you want to spend!

I’m looking for a 7 inch. Yes, I saw the variation in number of stones as well,
And not sure what would look better, larger stones with fewer or more with smaller!

I think it depends if you want it as an everyday bracelet or a bracelet for special occasions. For me and where I live, I would
want less than 5 ctw so I could wear it as an everyday bracelet. Probably more around 3-4 ctw. People who live in big cities
where "bigger" jewelry is the norm may want to go bigger. That's a personal choice. I suggest you go try on several different
weights and see what feels comfortable for you. Ask how many (millimeters) wide the bracelets are that you like.

Also, decide what kind of setting you like. Whoever makes the bracelet for you should advice you of how many stones it will be.

The Whiteflash 7 carat tennis bracelet has 39 diamonds and they are about .18 each. The bigger each diamond, the less it takes. You can divide 7 carats up in many different ways - there is no standard size.

I just finished appraising a 7.40ctw 4 prong tennis bracelet using 3.5mm round diamonds that held 44 stones in a 7" length. The stones will have little space visible between each other. It looks great and is not overly flashy for wearing frequently. If you travel into big cities where bad folks are looking for who to rob, then you might want to wear less weight and show off a bit less.

This is very helpful! thank you!

A 7 carat tennis bracelet would typically have about 48 stones, and that's for a standard piece that measures about 6.5 to 7 inches. My bracelet from Gem Jewelers Co. measures 7 inches and I'd say it holds the perfect number of stones - it looks absolutely divine, and fits me nicely!

Thank you! yes, I found one I think I like, that has the same size stones, but a 7.28 (50 stones). I was not sure if those were the right size or maybe needed a little bigger, so i am glad to hear your comment!

You can also buy inexpensive "tester" CZ bracelets to see how you like different size diamonds in your bracelet. (You could even purchase several testers, try them on very briefly, and return them.)

Also, different settings hold the stones either farther apart (and require fewer stones) or closer together (and require more stones). Even different settings of the same style, hold the diamonds at different distances apart.

Here's an example. I created my own tennis bracelet by purchasing one diamond at a time and then once I had enough of them, I had them set. I wanted a 3-prong "martini style" setting, but even in that specific style, using the diamonds I collected, there was a difference of two diamonds depending on which manufacturer's setting I chose because some settings held the diamonds closer together and others farther apart. (For my 6" bracelet, one brand I considered required 28 stones, another required 30.)

My completed tennis bracelet is 6" long, and contains 30 diamonds. Each diamond is between .33 ct - .35 ct (4.4mm - 45 mm) each. The total diamond weight is approx 10 cts.
