Care to share your favorites with me?

If you had a Saturday to spend going from store to store, where would you go? ( I know, the district is closed Sat for the Sabbath..)

Sure, I live on LI and should know myself but I don''t & need advice from all of you...this isn''t neccesarily a "buying trip" it''s more like a "dream day" of just seeing very beautiful things and having fun!

and they don''t need to be huge like Tiffany''s, just places you like to look yourselves. And if anyone has any Antique or vintage jewelry favs, please let me know....

Thanks for any ideas you''re willing to pass along!

Well, Tiffany''s is definitely one of my favorites... around there is also Harry Winston''s and Van Clef & Arpels... nice stuff there.
There is a new store in the new Time Warner Building in Columbus Circle called Lockes Diamonds. They do mostly custom made stuff but they do have lots of samples. It''s one of those places where you sit down with someone and they bring stuff out for you. I was worried that they''d be stuff since I had a yucky experience at Harry Winston, but they were so incredibly nice it was unbelievable. They have a website too: http://www.lockesdiamonds.com

If you go to http://www.metronewyork.com there is some sort of listing for engagement ring places.

Thanks Ammayer! I would love to stop by Van Clef and check out the eye candy... I have the Manhattan yellow pages here on my desk, so I''m going to also let my fingers do the walking....

Anyone else have any suggestions?

There are a few places in Soho that have great stuff, Niwaka being my favorite and Stuart Moore has some very cool jewelry pieces.

I love all the regular spots too like Tiffany, Harry Winston, Cartier and Bulgari for dreaming/window shopping on 5th Avenue. As elepri mentioned, Stuart Moore on Prince Street has some really great stuff. Also in Soho is Robert Lee Morris which has some cool pieces. For more unusual hipster stuff, I love Me and Ro and Push--both in Nolita. And my final guilty pleasure is a really inexpensive costume jewelry store on 6th Avenue between 37th and 38th called NOVA. It is just a mecca of fake jewelry and it''s so much fun to go in there and buy all kinds of baubles at very low prices. I highly recommend it!

The Clay Pot on Brooklyn has great, unique, one of a kind engagement rings...not manhattan but a suggestion none the less
