NYC Saks Bridal Sample Sale!

For those in NYC, the sample sale just started yesterday (Wednesday, May 30). I went twice yesterday, right when it opened and then back at night, lots of reem acra, vera wang, monique lhuillier left even last night. Every dress I looked at was 70% off. They are in pretty good shape, a lot of have never been tried on and were overstock. All generally in bridal size 10. Need alterations, maybe a dry cleaning, but still a great deal. I already had one, but if you open a new saks card, you get 10% off. They also give you 100 dollars off the dry cleaning with J. Scheer. Anyway, go quickly! (I feel like a saks ad!)

It ends on June 4th, I believe. Its on the 3rd floor. The Beverly Hills saks person told me that NYC is the only Saks store in the country to have a sample sale, and that all the samples from the rest of the stores are shipped to NYC so there is a lot of selection. You will have to go to an outside tailor that they entrust for alterations, you can''t use the in-house saks person. It was actually relatively calm controlled environment for a sample sale and the sales people are actually helpful and will try to find you stuff if you tell them what you are looking for. The reason I say go early is not only for the selection, but because wedding dresses are so fragile, you don''t want too many people to have tried it on. I got there about 10 minutes before the store opened (at 10am) which was a good idea as all the dresses were still on the rack, thus easier to browse and get salespeople attention.
