20k watch ,a 5k swarovski crystal piece,a $500 japaness koi fish if i had the money but, it kills me to buy an expensive car.funny story... when i used to drive my daughters to school they ask me to drop them off about a block away, they feel embarrass if their friends see me driving this beat up 86 mazda truck which i finally gave away to my gardener in 2001 after i bought my new truck.another item is sneakers.my daughters always laugh about my $17 Costco sneakers.

-A $300 meal. I LOVE food and wine!! (but i love BEER too!)
-I refuse to see the doctors because they usually don''t tell me anything I don''t already know, but I''ll spend thousands on Vet bills.

I think that''s about it... i''m pretty moderate with all my other spendings.

Expensive shoes. I know I''m probably the only woman in the world that isn''t into shoes, but I''m just not into them. I do love handbags, I have a marc Jacobs that I adore and a Louis Vitton. Go figure??

You know, as pathetic as this sounds I fudge on the BILLS! lol I''m bad. . .my husband lets me keep track of our money (as I once was an accountant - and am one right now - or at least my husband THINKS I''m one
2.gif
), therefore I allocate most of our $ for power, gas co, and misc. other expenses toward new shoes and t-shirt shopping sprees. I''m a clutz too, so half the heels I buy are too sophisticated for me to walk in so mostly they just sit in boxes next to all my ankle braces. lol

Oh, and regarding cars. I do love nice newer cars, so I''m always careful about paying my car pmt on time
2.gif
and pay the CPA I hire on the side - lol

I fudge on designer clothes. I can''t imagine spending money on designer jeans or shirts etc that go out of style. I do like my pricey meals, nice cars and nice shoes/bags though.

I''m cheap with just about everything.

i sort of dodge on food. (kind of) i really like good food, but it has a price limit for me. i have no problem with $40 a plate for food, but when the price goes towards $80 and much more. i see/taste little difference. would much rather have 2 or 3 dinners at less expensive places more often.

for me however, i really like cars (even tho i dont ahve one now.... and my last one was stolen). im not saying i would have a maserati or astin martin if money wasnt an issue, but it would be something nice, refined, and FAST! (i would save the rest of the money for speeding tickets

For me it's cosmetics and hair care stuff. I'd much rather spend my money on things that are more permanent and not washed off at the end of the day. I pretty much don't wear make-up, and if I do, it's like Covergirl blush and lipgloss, nothing expensive. Mostly I just wear drugstore moisterizer like Oil of Olay, and sunscreen when I'm outside. Wash my face with plain old Ivory Soap.

Hair care stuff is pretty basic, too. Whatever shampoo is cheap...Flex, Prell, Thermasilk, Sauve, Johnson's Baby Shampoo, as long as it doesn't cost more than a couple of bucks for a bottle.

Now, the things I WILL emormously spend money on are musical instruments, perfume, jewelry, watches, and SHOES!

HI:

I have no problem whatsoever using coupons---love ''em! Went grocery shopping yesterday at Safeway cuz it was 10% off Tuesday--and I check my bills to make sure I get all the discounts!

cheers--Sharon

I''m trying to think of what I''m NOT cheap on...

I fudge on my clothes - - not into designer clothes and if I do buy "name brand" it''s always from TJ Maxx or Ross or off the clearance racks at the department stores. I never, ever pay full price for any clothing. Wait long enough and it''ll go on sale.

I also fudge on my cosmetics and toiletries. Don''t buy or wear makeup... occasionally I''ll "splurge" on a tube of mascara. I buy cheap shampoo and conditioner. I agree with sjz, I''m not about to spend a great deal of money on something that isn''t permanent and I''m just going to wash off at the end of the day.

I fudge on food... not a big food lover. We don''t eat anyplace that is going to cost us more than about $40 for the 3 of us to eat. Especially since my son is a growing boy, no more kids meals for him!!

I will NOT fudge on my jewelry though. I want my jewelry to be HIGH quality and last forever, and I will definitely pay for that.

I also will NOT fudge on my son''s hockey gear. He only is young once and I want him to be safe when playing hockey.

I''m pretty cheap on just about everything else though!

I fudge on eating out . . . I have much more fun cooking a good meal for half the expense, and drowning in a bottle of wine while doing so.

I sometimes fudge clothes - I don't have a ton of name-brand stuff, and if I do, it's aways on sale.

I find that shoes are my biggest fudge . . . I don't mind Payless sandals (in fact I have 3 pairs of which I am constantly getting complimented on right now - if they only knew), and the few pairs of really expensive shoes I own, I've bought from Overstock, which were heavily, heavily discounted. (Mmmmmmm, Valentinos)

I don't fudge on my cars. I'm a VAG-aholic (VAG = VW Audi group) and am always buying mods for my cars. I usually will buy something a bit exotic, and fidged a bit with the car I bought in September (used Audi Cabriolet) and I'm regretting it because I don't love it. I'm currently looking for a 993 Cabriolet to reward myself for my new job . . . so that will be my new expensive plaything - and one of my lifelong dreams reached.

I also will not fudge on jewelry. My poor b/f . . . I'm sure he hates how much I'm on PS these days . . .

Overall I don''t think I"m cheap, compared with my friends I probably spend considerably more money. The things I am cheap with are:

lunches at work -- rather have the money to spend elsewhere

driving to work -- rather take public trans and read instead of stressing over traffic

buying books -- i love my library!

shampoo -- sometimes I notice a difference a cheap conditioner, I''ve never noticed a difference from a cheap shampoo

shoes -- I just can''t fathom spending a lot on them. I might think they''re cute but it soo isnt worth the money to me! Show me a purse or a great pair of jeans and it doesnt matter how much it costs.

Oh, and I try to take advantage of a student discount with my old student ID as often as I can

nutty- how old is your son? i''ve got two hockey obsessed little brothers and i don''t even want to think about how much money my parents have spent on hockey! between 500 dollar skates and 150 sticks, tournaments in atlanta, florida, etc! crazy... but the older one is playing D1 college hockey next year so i guess it was worth it
9.gif
(i''m so proud of both of them; they are so talented!) of course, i was a figure skater too and that''s an even more expensive sport than hockey. we are an expensive group of kids! i love hockey!

hmm, well right now for me it''s the car- i can walk to class in 5 min and live right downtown, so there''s no reason to keep my car here!

i love nice clothes... but living on loans at the moment doesn''t allow me to buy too much! i guess i kind of cut back on everything right now being in med school. someday i''ll have money and i''ll be too old to enjoy it

I fudge on clothes. But here we have a place that sells all the name brands at sometimes 70% off. AF and such.. So I go there iF I want something to fit perfect, but I do not want to pay the price. I can''t remember when I bought a new pair of shoes..hhmmm.. that''s kinda sad..LOL..

I don''t spend a lot of money on food and going out. And I really need to take better care of my car... Well.. seem to me that I am just plain cheap.

I will say that I spend the most money on the things my kids need. ESPECIALLY shoes and extra curr activities.. i.e. soccer, ballet etc.

I do not buy inexspensive jewelry, especially earrings...

DF, I want to see the $500 Swarvski crystal piece!

Handbags and shoes...I know it sounds strange but I rather splurge my hard earn money on jewellery.
emwink.gif

Not strange to me. I''m a T-shirt and jeans kinda girl, but I love good jewelry.

Bumpitty Bump - for a lot of the newer members

I would far rather have an older car and a big rock

To fund my diamond I would be willing to also cut down on clothes, other jewellery, makeup, holidays, eating out, shoes. I will fudge on almost everything, easy for me as I live in jeans, T shirts and boots due to my animals as I spend most of my time caring for them. I am lucky too that I can do my own hair, a friend cuts it and I home colour, manicures etc. A nice diamond ring is the only luxury item that means a lot to me. However one area I will not fudge on is in paying for my animal''s needs and vet bills. I will gladly sacrifice many things to get the luxuries in life that DH and I dream of!

I fudge on clothes for work - it would insult a designer to wear anything good to my office. But I buy designer clothes to wear to the theatre and the orchestra. I also try to always buy books on sale.

Shoes. The pair I''m wearing now is about $20 bucks. It kills me if I have to spend $100. Which I rarely do.

That''s why I have no boots.

I buy cheapo steel toe caps for my everyday activities, very necessary when dealing with horses. It doesn''t tickle when they tread on your foot
