Obama should spread the wealth to his own family first.

How low can you go starsapphire??? Do you think that everybody should take care of distant relatives, whether they ask for your help or not??? Maybe you should interpret this article in a broader way and criticize how the US takes care of their elderly poor??? How about that idea? But obviously that would go above and beyond looking at your own tax return and well-being. Pretty hypocritical, don''t you think? Thank God this is over in a few days.

Ditto, Rob!

Why should Obama "spread the wealth to his own family first"? What if they don't want/need financial assistance? Some people are very proud, and would not accept financial help from relatives. Also, some people have relatives who have done unforgivable things and who they would never help financially or in any other way. How do we know that isn't the case with Obama and his aunt and uncle? The article you posted seems very one-sided. Besides, if Obama starts handing out financial assistance to his family members, where does it stop? Where should he draw the line? For example, do you think he should be obligated to give financial assistance to a distant cousin who he's never met?

Do you want to know why we don't see any stories about McCain's family members who are struggling financially? Because he doesn't have any.

Irish - this is only about mudslinging unfortunately. Too bad because the article could serve as a good basis for a lot of interesting discussions/debates. For people with an interest in debating social policies, ethics etc. Which sadly was not part of this post. BTW I LOVE your emoticon!!!! Can you include it in gmail??
Cheers,
Rob

Ya know...this is so pathetic.

All this rehash in the last few days. This story was covered ad nauseum, except last time it was some random relative in Kenya.

He probably also forgot to give a birthday present to the cousin he has not spoken to in 20 years. Bad, bad!

charity starts at home....

But I didn''t post this when I saw it because I thought it was kinda low.

I guess its easier to avoid having these pesky poor relatives if you're BORN a child of privilege AND dump your "regular" wife to marry an HEIRESS.

And thanks for the compliment about the emotie! I have no clue if you can include it in gmail, though . . . sorry. I picked that particular emotie because I''m a horse owner, so horse poop is a big part of my life! LOL!

Well ... I guess I feel strongly about certain things ... lol. But thanks. What can you do when you handed out flyers for the German Social Democrats at age four ??? On a sidenote, by European standards, Obama (and the Democrats) really are not that liberal at all. That''s why it always cracks me up when people start talking about Socialism in the US. Shhhhhh. Don''t tell anybody though. I can already hear the "just go back to your socialist country if you are not happy here" screams from some ...

I donate to local charities as well as have a % go to my church.

But I haven''t given a dime to any of my family members (except mom, brothers, and Godson)

What does that make me?

I completely agree, Rob (and Irish). This is just pathetic, desperate mudslinging.
