Hi everyone! I am new to posting, however I''ve been reading many of your very helpful posts for a while! I recently inherited my grandmother''s 25th anniversary diamond ring. It''s an OEC- 1.58 cts, J, VS2. The stone was originally in a very simple (yet beautiful) 6 prong setting. I wanted to place the stone into a setting that really showed it off, and added a little extra sparkle! The new setting is handmade in 18K gold, with .3 cts of pave. Hope you all enjoy the pictures!!

Wow, its beautiful! I love the setting...you did your grandmothers stone well!

Thank you so much!! I''m so excited about the job my jeweler did on it!
In answer to your questions, my ring size is 4 and 1/2 and the jeweler is a smaller family owned company in New Jersey. I''ve used them previously for my engagement/wedding set and husband''s band-- nothing quite like this though. I was nervous since it was a custom order, but I think it turned out well. Thanks again for your replies-- I was really hoping it might live upto the standards of all the pricescopers :)

It is perfect. Seriously beautiful!

How lucky you are to have that gorgeous stone from your grandmother! The new setting is simply beautiful and absolutely perfect for your stone. Congratulations!

Thanks again everyone! I definitely feel I''m lucky to have received such a beautiful gift from my grandmother, it really does mean a lot to me.
According to my mother, my grandmother was never entirely happy with the original setting (a bit too plain for her taste.) My engagement ring is a simple solitaire, so I wanted to have a ring that was a bit more intricately designed. My mom thinks my grandmother would approve now ;)
I''m still getting used to the color- my engagement ring is an E color, so this definitely has some warmth in comparison. From what I''ve read, though, it seems most OECs and older cuts tend to have some warmth to them. I can definitely get used to it though!!

Beautiful diamond & ring design. Looks much larger than a 1.58 stone.

Gorgeous!

BEAUTIFUL!

It''s so lovely! Would you mind sharing who made the setting? It''s spectacular!

HI:

Are you trading off wearing this new ring with your other ER? Or is this a RHR? Beautiful regardless!

cheers--Sharon
