OEC solitaire and Diamond Band pairing question?

Hello All!

I am thinking about how I want to pair my Newly upgraded Solitaire… she is a nice size coming in at 4.56, and she is an OP. I have a smaller diamond eternity band now, and also plan to pair her with a plain platinum band; however I do plan on wearing her with a larger diamond band down the road, somewhere between .20- .25 pointers, either a 7 stone or an Eternity… the question is do I need to pair an OEC with an OEC band? I feel like OEC’s in this size are so hard to find and come at a premium…Or can I pair her with single cut rounds? And then… what color? I have an OP, so do I shoot for JKL color? Would love your thoughts on this…

Here she is, and the lighting shows her at a creamier color, but like most OEC’s she is bright and changes color depending on her surroundings! I’m this pic she is under, but she is currently with DK being set in a crown solitaire setting. IMG_2934.jpegIMG_2942.jpeg

I plan to wear my new OEC with my French Cut band. There are so many great options.

Bumping... I'm leaning towards OEC's, based on a couple of offline discussions. I've reached out to Adam to help me find a suite, and I know DK can also procure, although Adam may be more competitive as he likely has all of the stones in his inventory. I am torn, mainly because if I ever did change up the stone (like a true PS'er, already have an upgrade on the brain and I haven't finished this beauty, lol!), but I don't want to box myself with color. So would love your experience or feedback with this.

and @HS4S_2 when do we get to learn more about the NEW OEC?! Been following your journey and cannot wait to learn!

Getting closer. I am guessing a couple of weeks.

I think that some cuts go really well with most things. I like different textures and colors so it probably makes it easier. I have no problem mixing warmer stones with colorless.

PS.....I always have an upgrade on the brain.

Wear it with whatever you want. You absolutely do not need it to match your band- but also that color band would be difficult to come buy- and a small melee diamond won’t hold color the way your honker does- so really it would be hard to have a good match anyway. I have a cape color diamond that I wear with a very white diamonds. Different cuts, whatever feels fun in the moment. F3939C76-F164-499C-B0F5-BEB534B72ABB.jpeg

I was just about to say what @Niel said. I wouldn’t worry about color or trying to have a band specially made. One fun thing about having a solitaire is that you can mix and match with so many different ones. And it’s not that terribly hard to find really beautiful vintage and antique bands out there.

ETA - gotta include a pic!IMG_8151.jpeg

Thank you Ladies... and @Niel that capestone is Chef's kiss!! What color grade was that again?

A huge color disparity would drive my OCD crazy, so I will likely try to "get close" maybe in the J/K space. It's not an immediate project, I Still have to recover from funding this latest Upgrade, as in true fashion I went a wee bit over budget :twisted2:.

I may have fun with this one and collect stones for various occasions, that seems like it would be fun to "build"

Its been estimated y-z, but she isn’t appraised.
Honestly, j-k won’t be very close when you consider how the color will look different in smaller stones. Would you consider maybe a ruby or sapphire band? Can’t compare those colors

I hadn't even considered that @Niel a ruby band would be a nice stack to add  maybe I would just wear this new Diamond band on my other hand, lol! Also, do you find that the French cut band lends itself well? I feel like its such a chamelon cut, it's def on my list of bands to own... can I ask what size melee you used? They just have such an interesting sparkle, but I feel like they come at a price.

love these pictures!

I wear Bella with an OEC band from Old World Diamonds (+2mm spacer). I tried modern cut bands, but they just didn’t look right to me.

@Austina could you share more pics and details about your OEC band? Pointer size and color? Thank you!

Certainly @TruLuv858.

It was this one from OWD. 1.3 cts over 7 stones, so just over .18 pts per stone, set against Bella who’s 4.56 cts. The I/J colour doesn’t jar with the L colour of Bella. I have big fingers, so mine is a 6.75 just for perspective.
