Hello all! Just want to formally introduce myself as a LIW. Just want to give you a short background. The SO and I have been dating a little under a year. Before that I was in a four year relationship that did not work out. I was heartbroken, but none the less, my SO came in a perfect time in my life! 
Unfortunately, a few months into our relationship he was deployed to the Middle East. Luckily, he''s not in line of danger. Everything about him is different. He makes me feel wonderful and always manages to make me smile even though we are 4,000 miles apart.
I had no idea he had been looking for a ring until I spoke to him today. He told me he went to the Souq (Middle Eastern market where they sell goods at discounted prices) in which he found himself looking at jewelry. He told me not to freak out, but he had been looking at rings and the one he really liked was a solitaire. I was so shocked I almost fell off my chair!!! I had no idea he was looking, but I was glad that him and I have the same taste. I told him that he would need to do more research and that I loved solitaries! He noted that he would like to get one there before he left, simply because they are 3/4 cheaper than what he would pay in the states.
We plan to see each other between March or April. I''m not sure if it''ll happen then or when he gets back in August. Either way, I''m thrilled about spending the rest of my life with him someday.
