So the SO has been doing some major hinting around lately....saying that it will be my turn soon enough (every time someone else announces their engagement and I die a little inside :(sad ) Well last night, he must have confirmed that he will soon be coming into some fortune because he says I should breathe easier now. He says that now I only have to deal with the suspense of when...not if. I was on the other end of the phone with a face like so... ...and he says babe...Do you honestly think I'm gonna go buy the ring and propose the same day? No...it's gotta be on my terms....

So with that said...I am a much happier LIW....but if it's possible...my anxiety has taken on a different tone rather than gone away. Valentines day is soon and our fourth anniversary is one week after that. I am so excited, but scared to be...because my SO is the type that will wait until March just to throw me off the trail  ....

Has anyone died from suspense lol? I may be the first.

Different tone is exactly right! I think waiting with a timeline might be a little worse :)

It'll go by in a flash, try not to stress too much.

Thanks Maebelle!!

I'm trying not to focus on it and I do a pretty good job of forgetting about it when I'm busy with life. It's just that I seem to be constantly reminded at every turn. I guess it's that phenomena we all experience. When I named my children, all of a sudden I heard their names everywhere when they had seemed unique and uncommon when selected. I bought a car and then I saw it on every street it seemed....same make and model and even color sometimes. When you identify with something, whether it be having it or desiring it...your mind makes these little mental notes. Mine does.

One thing I take comfort in is learning to be happy with my situation and not wanting what others have. You never know what the real state of affairs is when you're on the outside looking in. There have been too many times when someone announced their engagement and then 2 weeks later, they are broken up completely. My SO and I are in it for the long haul so if it takes him a little longer...what's a few weeks or months longer when we're talking about forever?

Now I just have to remind myself of that when I'm tempted to pout and stomp and say gimme gimme gimme!!! :Up_to_something:

So exciting!!

Oh boy...I'm going and having a full pamper me session tonight!!! I find that as Maebelle says....the waiting is worse now...I have made a promise to myself not to mention any of the buzz words around him..or stare longlingly at the EMPTY space on my left hand....you know the ones...I'll make a list...and if I forgot any you guys add to keep me honest.... :loopy:

diamond
ring
wedding
engagement
proposal
marriage
wife
husband

That should about cover it right? :errrr:

I wonder if guys have any idea what we go through when we're in love...it's like I have ants in my pants or something

I'm a little waylay-ed right now as I need to wait two weeks to jump into sapphire shopping... so I've been looking at men's wedding bands quite a lot. It's helping a little, because I'll be able to help him choose a band that is right for him, and the kind of work he does.

So find a project, it helps I swear (a little)

I am trying to slim down...so perhaps my energy will be better served by blowing off my frustrations while sweating off these pounds. What better project, than a slimmer me?!?

I totally sympathize! So far as I know, no one has died of waiting, but I also feel like I could be the first. :cheeky:

Boyfriend has had the ring over 2 months now. It does get a little easier, I think... it does help not to think about it too much. That said, my hands have stayed the most moisturized they've ever been over a winter for the past few months! :D

It'll happen. Eventually. You'll be okay!

Oh, well. Try not to think about it too much, perhaps focus on work or something else. This way, it'll be a complete surprise when it happens!
And when it finally does, please let us know! :appl:

Thanks ladies!!!....& I'll be sure to join the boot camp thread!
