Hello, I recently found this wedding band in Virginia near Jamestown at a colonial house site, the house was not there of course just old brick, pottery and glass but know it's colonial because I found a 1773 Virginia half penny also along with other relics typically found from that era, can anyone tell me what they think about this ring? I believe it is marked 18k and is from the 18th century possibly and is a ring from Europe as it is marked 18k

Also I believe it says 18k but could be mistaken for 10k but not sure if 10k would be old or not or when 10k started being produced

I can't really help on this, but I had to chime in because over here in the UK at the moment we are gripped by a TV drama called Jamestown, which is set in Virginia in the year 1677, when the initial English settlers were sent over to farm the land for tobacco. It seems amazing that you are on this very site & have found relics from this era!

Congratulations on your finds & I hope you can trace some exciting history!
