Last summer we upgraded our wedding rings. Ever since then I have been wanting to do something with the diamond out of my original ering so I could still wear it. A few weeks ago they had a remount sale at the mall and I picked out this heart pendant to have my diamond and the 2 diamonds from my ring guard mounted on the pendant. The diamond is .15 g/h Si and the 2 accent diamonds were .05 total carat weight. We couldn''t afford much when we got married but my DH picked out a really nice ering for me. We layed away the ring guard and paid $15 a month on it so I could have it by Christmas that year.
Yesterday was our 16th anniversary and the pendant was ready to pick up so I got to wear it to dinner last night.
I know it was 17 years ago but I''ll have to tell you when I first got my original ering. We went to dinner and I went up to the salad bar to get some salad. I came back to the table and I''m just blabbing away. The waitress brings our drinks and says, "Is this an engagement?" I''m like "What"? I look on the table and see a ring box setting there. I opened it and found the most beautiful engagement ring in the world setting there. At least it was to me. We got married about 10 months later.
My husband had been unemployed for a few months when we got married so I traded in a diamond / emerald ring to pay for 1/2 of a matching pair of wedding bands with diamond accents. Several years ago we added an 1/3 ct. diamond anniversary band to my wedding set. I never wanted to upgrade until I got pickier about my jewelry and decided I wanted a 1/2 ct. solitaire for my ering. That is why we upgraded last summer.
I am going to enjoy being able to wear my first diamond now. I am a sentimental girl sometimes.
