It has been a few years since I posted it lurked. This site helped me pick out a very nice diamond for my wife's engagement ring.
Now after two kids and other life moments she delivers a a big birthday present. I read some last night on this site but her birthday is tomorrow.
So on a whim, I walked into a store to look at modern cushion necklace for my wife today and they had a old mine cut cushion available that they received.
It was not GIA rated yet but they are going to send it out to be rated. They guaranteed it for it to be I/J color, VS1.
It was 6.1/6.2 mm and .86ct
I thought it was really cool that this old one of a kind vintage diamond was available.
I may have overpaid. It set me back $2500 for the diamond.
They tried telling me old mine cuts go for 30% more than brilliant cuts. Is this true?
