Look at what I did to my old ering setting, I turned it into a band. The jeweler took the center basket out and added two more diamonds to make it a channel set plain band. Amazing what jewelers can do. The center diamond got put in a new setting since I didn''t like the old one.

I love it! Can you show us your new e-ring setting, too?

Here is the new setting with the modified ring that got turned into a band. The new ring has four prongs which are much lower. It's much more comfortable to wear than a high protruding center stone which kept flopping back and forth on my finger.

Jewelers are amazing. They can do anything you ask them to do if they have the skill to do it. The poor jeweler thought it would take him 1 hour to do this. Instead, it took him 4 hours. He didn't realize the difficulty of the task.

Now instead of leaving the old setting in a jewelry box never to be worn again, it will now be worn all the time.

Wow that is really cool. I didn''t know that jewelers could do something like that! The new set looks really balanced and is very pretty.

Thanks. I didn''t know it was possible either but it bothered me that I would have a ring that I wouldn''t wear so I figured a jeweler could modify my ring so I could wear it. The jeweler I went to, looked at the ring and said he could do what I asked. I even sold him the center basket of the ring. My ring was like an old car...I was selling parts off of it. LOL!

Nice!!!!! The redo looks great! It looks great on you!

Looks great!!

Brilliant idea, Pinksparkle! Your new set looks perfect together. (An empty setting in my jewlery box would make me a little crazy, too.)

i love it!

I know an empty setting in a jewelry box would drive me crazy!!

Wow! I''m really impressed! Your set looks amazing

Very nice! The new rings looks great, and I love how low set they are for sure.

I am curious to see a profile shot of the new e-ring, I''d like t osee how the shank and basket meet!

Here is a profile shot of the ring. It''s not as nearly as high as it was before. It''s lower now but might not look that low in the picture. Everyone always says the higher the setting the more it shows off the diamond. However they didn''t put into account the comfort level when you work alot with your hands.

Here is another picture. Not really profile but close enough.
It's a very simple basket setting. I like it a lot.

Does anyone have 18K gold? Do you find that your ring starts to turn a light yellow color? I took it to the jeweler and was told that I need to have it dipped in platinum coating. I thought when you dip gold, it gets dipped in gold or rhodium.

I love, love the new set.

The old ering looks ordinary. The new set is head-turning. Lots of blink, and elegant.
Most importantly, no waste.

That turned out great. Very pretty.

great idea - it turned out lovely !:)

So now if you don't like your old rings, you can have the jeweler fix it or modify it. No wasting a good ring. I paid the jeweler $100 to modify the ring plus the jeweler provided the two extra diamonds to put in the ring. It took the jeweler 4 hours to do this when he initially thought it would take one hour.

Your jeweler/benchman is amazing! Beautiful!

Absolutely gorgeous dahling, well done, hats off to the jeweler!
