For anyone looking to purchase an old world diamond, I HIGHLY recommend Adam of Old World Diamonds!! I have been in love with old diamonds for many years and have researched and followed many of the well known (and not so well known) companies who sell them. For my 35th wedding anniversary my husband told me to choose whatever I wanted and design a ring!! Lucky me!!! I knew exactly where I was headed as I had already done my research over the years and interviewed Adam awhile ago. All of the reviews that can be found on his website were 100% true! My entire experience was wonderful and fun, and that is a lot for someone like me who obsesses over every detail and decision.
Adam was incredibly patient and most importantly honest. Although I was pretty certain what I wanted (and had actually had my eye on a diamond featured on his Instagram account), I asked Adam to walk me through his recommendations given my ideal diamond. He has an incredible inventory but also offered to search for whatever it is I wanted if he did not have it. Even when I gave him my budget, he actually talked me out of much more expensive stones, pointing out the qualities of stones that he prefers. No one in the industry does that!! It was then that I was 100% certain that I had chosen the right person and company. As it turns out, the stone I was eyeing was indeed the one he recommended for me and it is unbelievably perfect in every way. Adam overnighted the stone to me in a beautiful presentation case, told me to keep it for a few days and see if it felt right, and then decide. I didn't need to do that as I knew the minute I saw it in person that it was the one for me, and I sent the diamond back immediately to have it made into a ring.
After explaining my vision of my perfect ring to Adam, he made some suggestions, and together we designed a setting. I constantly changed little details and messaged Adam multiple times a day. Even after we had thought that we had a 'final' plan, I would change something and he just went with the flow, never annoyed by my indecision. He simply said, "I want it to be perfect for you, and it doesn't matter how many times you change it--we will get it right. And, if you don't like it-we will remake it." Honestly, I was blown away, as I would've been so irritated by my constant changes if I had been him!
Adam created several variations using the CAD design, and together we discussed the details and refined them. Even after I was certain I knew what I wanted, he said, " I had models made for you and will overnight them to try on." I thought it was not necessary but am glad he insisted, as I ended up switching from my 'final plan' to one of the variations he sent. Everything he suggested turned out to be the right choice for me and I now have the ring of my dreams with the most beautiful diamond I have ever seen.
