I bought a beautiful little OMC antique diamond from Ebay for the stunning price of $276!!! The stats are .52ct, H/I colour and (forgetting the damage to one corner) it''s an SI1. It arrived and was sooooo sweet, lovely and white with great big chunky flashes of light and much better looking than I had hoped.

I wanted to set it in an illusion setting so it looked bigger and also wanted an antique looking ring with a modern twist. I spent ages deciding who to use for my setting but then settled on an Etsy seller, highly recommended on PS, Sally from HeartofWaterJewels. From the start, Sally just seemed to "get it". She instinctively knew what I wanted. I didn''t feel it was a struggle - we seemed to click and had very similar ideas.

I sent Sally this as my inspiration / wish list ...........

And this is what she''s created for me .......... photos taken by Sally last night.

Its lovely!!

Daytime photos - Sally really struggled to photograph this as she said the light was bouncing off the ring causing blurriness! In her words, it''s white white white!

I can''t recommend Sally highly enough and can''t wait to get the ring now!!!!

Love it! Have to say I''m sooo jealous of the incredible deal you got on that beautiful stone!!!

WOW! Amazing result! I wouldn''t have believe it was possible -- but you guys did it! Can''t wait for hand photos.

Seriously stunned ....

Beautiful design and such a clever way to balance the damaged corner of the stone. I have often seen OMC/OEC''s that are beautiful, but hesitated when I would see a damaged corner or something like that. It is good to know there are ways that a talented designer can bolster and/or hide such issues, as Sally has clearly been able to do in your case. I cannot wait to see more pictures of your baby!! :)

Sally is awesome and I really need to send her a couple of stones she and I have cooking up ideas for.

That is a very special ring! I absolutely ADORE it! Great job, you have impeccable taste!

Ah... I remember that stone on eBay. I was thinking about taking a chance on that stone and set it with the same fishtail/3 prongs setting as well but as a pendant! Seemed like you know a better deal much better than me!! Congras!! Happy that one of the PSers got it!

The ring turns out GREAT! Looking forward to see your hand shots!

Looks great! The setting compliments your stone beautifully! You have great taste. Hand shots please.

Blinkydoll, you played a role in turning me into all the old cuts!

All these gorgeous old cuts I see since Surfgirl''s ring to the most recent Rainyhaze and AJ, yours and a few others in between.. totally drove me nuts. I have an OEC/Tranny pendant coming my way next week... finally, an old cut to call my own... soon.

I really love how your ring turned out. Do post more pictures pls.

LD it''s gorgeous! I love Sally and her work, and this is just affirming that! Plus, I''m pretty sure I bid on that daimond. LOL. I wouldn''t have come up with anything nearly as perfect though, so I KNOW it was meant to be yours! Wear it in the best of health. The ring and the diamond are beauties.
