Since I had been using a much stronger bed for a few weeks and have been at the max time for about 4 days, I decided to do a lower power bed, a standup, to even out the weirdness I have developed since I lay in those things so stupidly. The girl said 12 minutes (max) would be fine since it''s not as strong. Oh dear lord am I toasty. And not even evenly. My right arm isn''t as red as the left. Which is funny because I musta been standing in there weirdly. I am dying to just go put my right arm into the thing for 5 minutes just to even out.

How lame am I.
(yes I know tanning is bad. I will be done on July 1st for good and will continue to keep my body c hecked for cancerous spots because it will serve me right if I develop skin cancer)

I feel your pain ame! I have even had a bout of cancer and yet I still do the tanning booth from time to time ( I know, I know, tsk, tsk). But I''m Irish and fair-skinned, and I can''t stand self-tanners. So there I am. Anyway, I do the stand up as well after weird "un-tanned" spots develop on my upper back and right above my booty from laying in the beds! The first couple times I used the stand up, I burned real bad, I was like a tomatoe for a day or two! But it gets better and ultimately, they give you a real great. long-lasting ( perhaps cancerous!) tan!

I figured before I went today oh Ill do this today and maybe Sunday and then alternate....I think Ill wait past Sunday even. I popped a couple advil because its sore and Ryan keeps rubbing lotion on.

I just keep laughing and getting annoyed that one arm is more than the other. I wonder if I was just standing closer to the bulbs on my left side.

Im pasty as hell usually too and only tan for when Im in a wedding. I have worn strapless in two weddings in a couple years and my own is strapless and I didn''twantto match my ivory fabric. I am going to hopefully even my right arm up with a few extra minutes on the right side on Mondayor Tuesday. Then go to every few days going in a level 4 like I was to just keep it up.

Just drive around with your right arm out the window for a few days and then it will match the left!

This actually works.

Don''t ask.

My husband is against me lying in the tanning bed. He doesn''t want me to get cancer. I''m sad b/c I''ve tanned since I was a sophmore in high school. I feel so much better tan...but it makes my face look old when I lie in the tanning bed.

Jenn, do you have a very long right arm?

I guess to get the right arm redder, you should be in the passenger seat.

TANNING MAKES ME FEEL FABULOUS!!!! I MISS IT SO!!!!

But now that my girlfriend has a chunk of her shoulder missing after getting skin cancer I don't ever go out in the sun unprotected. I think I'd miss that more.

STOP USING THE TANNING BED MISSY! :)

Whenever we are at the pool and I ask my fiance to put sunscreen on me he dumps like the whole bottle on me and says, "Im going to put a lot on you because I want you to be soft when you are 80."

I just had a suspicious looking, sore mole removed from my arm and am kind of nervous about it. I wear sunscreen all the time too, so if something is wrong I will be so mad!

Hope you feel better ame and "no tanning for you"!

I too had a mole removed from my back a few years ago. It was unusual looking and it came back negative...whew!

Anyway, I also do the tanning bed once in a while...bad, bad..but if I don''t, even with sun screen on, I get a weird rash on my arms from the sun that itches like mad and takes several weeks to go away. I have always been like that ever since I was a kid. If I get a little color on me in a tanning booth it doesn''t happen to me when I''m in the sun doing yard work. (For some reason, I don''t get that rash in a tanning booth

)...but anyway, I went yesterday and my back and butt are reeeeeeedddddddddddd...OW! I just hope it doesn''t get too itchy..I don''t want to be walking around scratching my rear end like a guy...

awww.. thats super sweet punchNpie. My FI yells at me all the time because I don''t wear sunscreen.. I am pretty fair skinned, but I don''t burn THAT easily. He could walk outside to get the mail on a sunny day and come back sunburned. SPF 30 doesn''t even help him not get burned. He has to wear 50 or higher. He says I''m gonna get skin cancer.. but I say that since he burns way way way more often than I do (Even though he tries to prevent it) that he can''t say anything.. I haven''t tanned in a tanning bed in awhile. I went for awhile last summer, but I sometimes get cold sores from too much sun and I got BAD ones so I stopped going and have been sort of afraid to go again. I''ll need to start before my wedding though..

LOL! Yeah, well...I spoke too soon...I''m itching there now, too.

I think its going to be a movie day!

haha! I think Im going to go this evening and do the right side closer to the bulbs to even out.

My mom informed me this morning that Im still pretty pasty...I really d on''t want to be dark like last year. Just not sickly lookin.

I may have just evened it up ;)

I''m sunburned...and it''s totally my fault! I''ve been taking antibiotics for sinus infection (from our mold-infested house...whole other story!)...and it clearly states on the bottle, that you should avoid exposure to the sun blah blah blah! YesterdayI took my son and his friends for a quick swim...and sat in the sun for about 25 minutes and totally got burned, even with SPF 15 on! That''s not like me! Then today, I sat mostly in the shade at a B-day party, and my arms got totally seriously brown. I could probably get a heck of a tan in about 1/4 of the time it usually takes!

I''ve done the fake and bake a few times...mostly in the spring or before vacation to avoid the first burns of summer!

Ahhhhh... I am headed for the fake and bake this week to prepare for my trip. I need to apply a few coats of primer before I paint over my winter white.

Actually they say that in extreme heat and sun you need to have a primer anyway. See? It''s recommended!

Tanning beds make you tan well in summer and can help beat the winbter blues.
I know I sound like an add but it worked for me.
No cause for that now

Platinumsmith is so right...my mom goes in the winter, not to tan, but because it chases away the winterblues. They get very little sunshine where she is in the winter! I''m in San Diego, so I have absolutely no excuses...

Ive never tanned in the winter unless I was in a wedding. Normally I don''t mind beingpasty but since I blended completely into my ivory gown, not a good look. I am about where I want to be, I might go two more rounds to accelerate thebrown but then it''s just maintenance. My face is way too dark for what I want so I am wrapping my entire head in a bigass towel now. Quite a good look, I assure you.

ame,

cheer up it could be worse...one time my end burned her "area" in the tanning bed...

That''s weird, my tanning place says their standup is supposed to be stronger than the lay-downs, which is why you only need to be in it for 10 minutes rather than 20. That''s my tanning method of choice though because the lay-downs give me weird lines on my butt from my skin touching the glass. I get a more even tan with the stand-up.

I'm SO not an expert but am a skin freak and have been turned on to Omega 3 complex (an EFA) .. I have *read*....that Omega 3 can help to increase skin's tolerance to sunburn and thus, help to ward off cancer...again, this is only what I've read...
So you sun bunnies start taking some :) I'm too worried about looking old to sub bathe anymore. But I SURE DO miss a good tan. Siiiiiiggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm telling ya'll Omega 3 is my NEW BEST FRIEND! It rules. My rough feet and dry skin is really really improving! Together with my new urea/glycolic acid mix, I'll be looking like I'm 30 when I'm 90 LOL I wish!

I burn my t and a frequently. I am actually wrapping my whole middle in abig beach towel now as well as my whole head in another towel. I know it''s odd but the less color my face has the better I feel. Partly bec Im too cheap to buy new makeup :)

MMM I can''t remember to take what I need to survive let alone extra pills.
