he put a ring on layaway!!!!!!!

It was normally out of budget, but he loved it!!

We were at helzberg looking at their restyling event becuase we have to either entirely replace/fix my gma''s ring (which we are using) or just use the stone in a seperate setting.
So back to the story, we went to helzberg (and incidently ran into my psudo cousin) to just look aruond and try on styles. eric really liked our SA (young guy, down to earth!), so he felt comfortable shopping there. They had SOOO many styles to look at and fortunately the juy understood what we lifed, didnt like, etc, and picked out some great looking designs for us.

So the ring we LOVED was an "antique" style, knife edge but slender with pave on the sides (of the knife edge, not down the center), with two small side stones (about maybe 1/5 CT) and then my stone will sit a bit higher up.

Its super pretty, antique-y style for me, unique for him (he loves the pave-knife edge style) and its on layaway!!

so now i dont have to pester him about going and looking at rings anymore..10 months to go!!

(time to buy a martha stewart wedding mag!!!)

i will try to find a picture if possible!

oo! and my hair stylist/confidant got engaged last weekend too!!

thanks everyone!! unfortunately when we went to helzberg it was a restyling event, so of course it was one day only and of course i didnt think to take a picture!!! maybe i can get E to draw it up for me.

so a timeline? well technically he has 10mos for layaway i hope by the end of the year. It was just our two year (i wasnt expecting it though). i doubt it will be on my bday or xmas but hopefully by the end of new years. if not, maybe in june when we go on vacation.. although i might burst if it takes that long!


although, it does give me time to save up for his band (!700)

okay, this is the closest i could come up with (compliments of blue nile!)

so the band is about the same thinness, but instead of being channel set, imagine it as a knife edge (so the sides are all sparkely too!!). also, aparently each little diamond is 4 prong set, the two sides are 3 prong and the big gun (teehee!) is 6 prong.

and they had a matching band that curved with it perfectly (that, we did not put on hold. i might get that one custom made)
