I'm ready to hunt again.
I have so many questions.
Do I want antique or new? High or low color?
Is there a thread that you know of that discusses how to choose? [I found a table for parameters, but that's all]
Do they look in person the way they do here? I want one with beautiful flower.

I've been looking at Grace and Old World. Don't want to jump the gun - want to get educated first...half the fun! and want the best I can get in my range [6k-ish including simple setting].

Color and cut will be total personal preference. Best advise is you should go out and actually see these types of diamonds to see what you like best.

Great idea. I've done some casual scouting around the area and have only found 3 total! I'll have to figure out where to go...

This is a great thread from Dreamer on old cuts:

I personally spent a LOT of time looking at SMTB threads to see what appealed to my eyes and then ordered some stones to see them in person. There aren't really any old cuts where I am geographically so I had to buy and return several while I learned what I liked.

My stone does not photograph well IMO. So what I see with my eyes I can't seem to capture in a photo, it looks much more mushy than the crispness I see IRL. I've had several other OECs that do that as well (could also be my not great photography, but I choose to blame the stones  ). The more you look at, the more you will train your eyes.

We can't tell you if you'll like high or low color, new cut or old cut. You'll have to figure that out for yourself!

This is so very true. All of my OEC's "speak to me" and I knew they were the ones when I laid eyes on them. Each one will play with the light differently. My larger OEC glows beautifully with pastel colors whereas my smaller pair has more flashes of light. I adore them both and am so happy to see another OEC lover!

Just having you describe yours makes me hungry for one! [at least one]
