One small step

Well, I’ve never been able to write a post like this and I’m thrilled that I finally can…

Long story short: SO and I had a big computer glitch last night while I was working on a huge presentation for work for an early morning presentation today. I had logged about 4 hours of time working on this presentation and it didn’t SAVE (despite me clicking the save button half a dozen times)

. I was freaking out and we started to do everything we could think of to find and recover the document. At one point we saw this message from the program flash up that future versions would be saved off-line. So immediately we though the document had somehow been saved in a temporary internet file. I started to scour through them frantically when...My. Heart. Stopped.

I found several sites for engagement rings!!!

I immediately closed out of the temp files because I didn’t want to stumble on any information that may lead to what he is thinking of.

I don’t think the proposal will happen any time soon (even though my b-day is in a few weeks) but just knowing he’s actually proactively looking is enough excitement to hold me over for awhile!

Yay!!!! This is fantastic news! It''s always fun when you realize that they really ARE thinking about it! Even when you know it''s going to happen, stumbling on stuff like that just makes you smile because you know he''s reaching out and taking some initiative on his own!

Were you able to recover the presentation? I hope you weren''t up until the wee hours of the morning recreating it! How did the presentation go

I did not recover the file. I was up until the wee hours of the morning finishing the edits. The presentation went flawless (helps that half the attendees were still half asleep) so having that weight off my shoulders is keeping me awake for now

Mmm...Long''s! I work right next to the one in the financial district and often wonder over there for lunch to look at the Daniel K asscher eternity band! There''s also a Long''s at the SS Plaza--we should have wondered over there after cheesecake

Keeping, I''m so sorry to hear that the presentation wasn''t recovered (blah, the same thing happened to me last Thurs.!), but am excited to hear that the presentation went so well!! YAY!

Really, maybe losing the edits to the preso wasn''t SOOO bad since it was a catalyst for your happy little discovery

I''m still reminding myself that I could have a ways to go and I''m completely fine with that. Although we have talked about where we stand with each other and what we want, there is still something very reassuring about knowing he is out there doing the footwork to make it happen.

It''s a good thing I want to be surprised so badly that I don''t want to ruin any aspect of this otherwise I''d probably be super tempted to keep peeking through those files just to see what he''s been looking at

Good job not looking! I wouldn''t have been able to resist. My BF is really good at hiding everything from me even though I''m usually really good at "accidentally" stumbling on stuff. He usually buys all his gifts for me from his office, where I never go.
