Hello! I found this online from a 5 star rated seller and LOVE it, but want to know if it’s a fair price. It’s 1.4 ct, M, SI 2 eye clean. Priced just over $5K. I’m completely open to another stone, but almost always prefer OMC over OEC Over 1ct, prefer warmer colors but not dead set, chunky/funky cuts preferred, eye clean in setting. Would like to stay in the 4-6K range on price. IMG_5043.png Also am fairly set on yellow gold, but might be open to other metals.

I like it. But it seems to have a shallow crown (making diameter relatively larger but less crown height. I can’t tell but it might not be a perfect/crisp snowflake OEC, which doesn’t bother me, but you should assess how you like faceting in person. And assess clarity in person too. I don’t know about comparatives pricing, but IMO seems slightly high.

I like chunky diamonds, this OMC, for example, seems chunkier. Stated to be around 1 carat but it might be more (before anyone buys they should ask vendor for mm dimensions to calculate if you really care). Returnable.

Are you on Instagram? There's a few vendors to follow. I can't remember them all right now but if you want an omc you should look for one instead of an oec.

I am on IG, I’ll check those out, thank you! My “perfect” ring/stone is OMC, very chunky, yellow gold with warmer tones. I’m struggling to find exactly what I’m looking for that doesn’t seem overpriced.

@Dreamer_D I see your name pop up on a lot of the OMC threads! If you have any words of wisdom on where to find an OMC, chunky, warm and between 1.25-2.0 carat in yellow gold, that’s under 6K, I’d be eternally grateful! I have spent hours on the web, IG, eBay, Etsy etc

Did you see these?

It just so happens I saw one of the stones from Sako that maryjane posted above, the 2.49 QR. It's a bit out of your range and it's just the loose stone, but just in case... I loved the stone when I saw it, it just wasn't what I was looking for right now.

The peruzzi is really cool too (I didn't see that one).

Do you want a true antique setting? Solitaire, similar to the first one your posted?

I feel like you can either two out of three: a deal (and your budget will require it to be a deal); well cut; or the exact flavour of old cut you want. Something will have to give!

Also check out Collins. Not sure how you feel about a cluster. This original antique cluster was still available when I was in store last week.
I know they have a 1.3 ct old mine but it's loose. I took this pic in store.

Reach out and ask what else they have. They sell on instagram too.

Even if in open to looking up to M in warmth? If that’s the case, I understand, just trying to be realistic.

@OKCGirl it all depends of how patient you are. I tremendously enjoy the process of finding treasures, so for me, digging through dusty stores or going to estate sales is such a meditative process.
Mine below is eye clean, 1.2 ct and it was under 1k, for reference

Even given I’m open on color and clarity being just eye clean?

The top Sako diamond is very similar to the OMC I linked to above for significantly less money and a white and yellow gold setting. This one. Don’t get distracted by so called rarity. Go with what your eyes want. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30615840...nC6vPRDN5fZ38CyJAbbR8S8g==|tkp:Bk9SR7bqofSsZQ

OP please review all the links in the comments and tell us what flavor you prefer (and post diamonds you prefer).

We can help you find your diamond, if you show us examples of what cuts you like.

Here’s an Old Mine set in a pin. This is very old 1800s cut.

In case you want TWO in a spectacular antique setting.

This one is very old and wonky but I love it. Slightly outside of budget, listed for a while. I wonder if vendor would accept offer?

It would also help to know if you're open to loose stone, a stone set in a setting you don't like and might re-set, or certain types of true antique settings that you plan to wear as they are.

Have you checked Ivy & Rose? They have a bunch of old mines in your range, but I don't want to link random things without a better idea of what you're looking for (mine and others' questions above).

I love a good hunt too! I feel like I need a new stone hunting project since I recently bought mine. I'm all in treasure hunting mode, might as well help out while I'm at it.
