Opinion on 0.91 Carat I-SI1 Excellent Cut Round Diamond

It also has an HCA of: .8 (Excellent)

shallow angles with a thick girdle.

JulieN,

But it graded out really well in the HCA.. I don't understand...

Now I really feel like I picked out the wrong 3 diamonds to get idealscopes for from JA...

The one you picked is the best huh?

And JA wont' send me idealscopes for it.

You don't need an IS. the video is good enough, and I'd pick the one I linked.

You didn't read the fine print on HCA, about ring stones vs pendant/earring stones.

Phil I think Julie is being a bit persnickety and has personal preference on what she likes to see in terms of angle combos, which is fine, but it's splitting hairs. That's not to say that the stones that are outside of her personal preference are bad. they aren't. Both of the ones you posted are lovely. Get an idealscope image and we'll check it out for you. If you can to add or substitute the one Julie prefers in there as well, that's okay.

But you are really okay. Some of our posters are just very persnickety when it comes to rounds. Which is good most of the time, but can lead to confusion at times like this.

You are okay.

Thank you both...

I am just stressing myself out on a daily basis.. I really appreciate the opinions of everyone on here.. I just get confused when someone says go with this diamond, and someone else says go w/ another diamond..

I truly value all your opinions..

btw: JA told me if I wanted to change my request for ideal scopes it would prolong everything. So i'll just post the scopes when I get them..

Thanks all..

so which ones have you IS requests on?

G SI2 looks pretty good if the inclusions near the girdle are prongable.

As I said, you don't really need an IS for the I VS2 I picked, so nothing wrong with sticking with your 3 initial choices. The other two Is have some things in the video that could benefit from being checked out with an IS. And they all look pretty good.

Gypsy/JulieN:

Need your opinion: I spoke to a JA rep again, and now she was mentioning I should consider a TrueHearts diamond cause its going to have excellent everything. And although it would save me a little money cause its .80 ct, I still like some of the diamonds you both showed me.

So should I just wait for the IS, and get your opinions? Cause id rather have a .90 vice .80 cause from what I've heard there's not much difference between a .90 and 1 ct

No. Stick with the 90 pointers. JA's staff is not very knowledgeable. They know the basics. But we can generally run rings around them.

The 90 pointers will be great!

Gypsy,Julien, all...

The idealscopes are in... *FINALLY*

Need everyone's opinion.. I have the diamonds on a 24 hour hold from JA.. Please let me know.

Here's what JA said:

You'll be happy to know that two of your diamonds offer excellent light performance! Diamond 295031 is amongst those exceptionally bright diamonds and it faces completely eye clean. It has a true "I" color and is a very beautiful selection. Diamond 169448 is equally as bright and has a white "G" color. Its inclusions blend in a way that some people will view it as eye clean, while those with a keen eye may be able to pick up on them. It's a beautiful option as well, but if you feel you have a sharp eye and don't want to see any of its inclusions, you'll want to focus more on diamond 295031.

Diamond 279593 is bright in its own right, but the gemologist found its brightness to relax some as it got close to the edges. It mostly pops right in the center. It has a true "I" color and its inclusions blend nicely as well. Just like diamond 169448, the gemologist feels a keen eye might pick up on the inclusions, while the average eye may not.

Diamonds 295031 and 169448 are both bright and lively options that come highly recommended. I believe you'll find either of them to look beautiful and eye catching. If I were choosing between the two, I'd make my decision based on my preference for higher clarity or higher color. The difference in both of those qualities is very subtle, so both options are great!

I VS2 that I picked above.

JulieN,

So what do you think about the diamonds/IS that I posted? I would love to know what you think, compared to what JA told me.

I VS2 here as well.

I agree with JA's ranking

Gypsy,

So out of those 3 IS, you think diamond 295031 is the best choice?

I'm starting to think I should get a JA True Hearts diamond...

I'm still confused..

Why do you think a true hearts will be better? Is it a mindclean thing? That's a VERY nice diamond you've chosen. I personally wouldn't go for a True Hearts over it, but then I've seen hearts and arrows and non-hearts and arrows (but still ideal light return stones) and for me the lack of true hearts and arrows faceting is not important.

Do you live near any of the PS vendors? You can go in and see some stones and see what you think?

And yes, I do think the I VS diamond is the best choice. JA has a 60 day return policy. You could buy the I, and then take it to see some hearts and arrows diamonds locally "hearts on fire" or "peerless" or whatever (keeping in mind they will bad mouth your stone as they want you to buy from them) ... or maybe an INDEPENDENT appraiser (always a good idea) and see what your eyes prefer?

There are lots of options. You are spending a lot of money and should be comfortable with your purchase.
