Hello! This is my first time posting here. We are in the process of picking diamonds for a 3 stone ring for our 20th anniversary. I have a center stone already but want very well cut side stones as well and want to use my local jeweler. I realize these are smaller diamonds than most PS members are getting feedback on but nonetheless I would like to get diamonds with excellent fire. I have never evaluated ASET images in other Diamond purchases and don’t know how “bad” this is or isn’t. To my untrained eye, I think the proportions of both are quite good (hca scores 1.3-1.5). Any advice appreciated. First picture from one of the diamonds and the other two pictures from the other (maybe an older cert?) Thank you!IMG_2111.pngIMG_2126.png

Both stones have excellent proportions. The first stone's ASET image is very good but not at the level of super ideal cut. There is a minor amount of crown digging and paddling (obstruction near the arrow tips), and the optical symmetry could be more precise. We can't tell much about the second stone beyond that the proportions work well together.

As a side note, at this size it's probably not significant, but the two might perform a bit differently due to one having a smaller table and taller crown height than the other.

How big is your center stone and what proportions does it have?

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, JayneClaire!
I think these would make for excellent side diamonds, as long as the pricing is fair for their 4Cs.

Thank you all so much for your replies! I appreciate it very much - I have found this Forum SO helpful. I am going to look at these side stones today and decide based upon what I see in person. My center is actually a lab grown (first time getting one - was not even aware these existed) 1.15 GIAXXX that falls in AGS cut range with an HCA of 0.9. In person I find it to be beautiful - just have to get my head around the lab-grown piece but I think for the cost savings I will. I know some people prefer smaller sides relative to the center but I'm trying to avoid an engagement ring look since this will be a right hand ring and I don't want to completely overshadow my wedding set (looking at 0.50 / 1.15 / 0.5 carat approximately)

Specs on lab-grown GIAxxx center

Crown angle 34%
Crown height 14.5%
Pavilion angle 40.8%
Pavilion depth 43%
