Hi all,

I'd be grateful for your opinion on a diamond based on specs.

Shape: Round
Size: 0.7 ct
Measurements: 5.64 mm x 5.67 x 3.55 mm
Color: F
Clarity: IF, minor details of polish
Depth: 62.7%
Table: 55%
Crown: 36 degrees
Crown Height: 16.5%
Pavillion Angle: 40.6 degrees
Pavillion Depth: 42.5%
Star Length: 50%
Lower Half: 75%
Girdle: Medium to Slightly thick, Faceted, 3.5%
Cutlet: None
Cut (GIA): Excellent
Symmetry and Polish (GIA): Excellent
Fluorescence: Faint

I won't bother posting the photos as they are not very clear. The price point seems pretty good but I'm wondering if there's something I'm not seeing based on the specs. Any help would be appreciated. I just purchased it online today but am now worried and can cancel.

Thank you!

A bad photo is better than no photo.
36/40.6 can be disasterous or great.

Do you need IF clarity? You are paying a premium for something that doesnt visually make a difference (e.g. an eye clean VS2 will look as clean as an IF unless you look under magnification, especially in sub 1ct size).

Other than it being slightly deeper than ideal, it looks pretty good

Not bad for a 36/40.6
Some weak spots, but I do not see anything detrimental.
If you specifically looking for a high color/clarity combo and the price is right, wait until it arrive and see it in person.

Thank you! What are the weak spots that you see?

I don't need IF clarity but I have this annoying niggle regarding getting what I've paid for. It's tough with diamonds without the inclusions mapped. I don't want to pay the price for a VS1 and really have it be a VS2 or SI. Without the inclusions depicted the only grade I trust is IF.

For diamonds with plotted inclusions I'd definitely go for a VS2, because then I could verify it's actually what I believe a VS2 should be and the price I'm paying is therefore appropriate.

If you get a diamond with an accurate lab report (GIA, AGS) you won't get a stone that is labeled a VS2 if its actually an SI1. With or without a profile plot you can trust the lab report.
