This week I have an appt. w/my jeweler to make the w-band and e-ring 1/4 size larger, since I can''t get it over my knuckle easily. Once I do get it over, it will spin probably when I do the increase 1/4 size. I was thinking of asking
the jeweler to lower the center diamond so that it doesn''t spin as much. Also, I think it might look better with the diamond alittle lower. Do you think I should ask this and is it even possible to do? Thank you for your advice.
Here is my ring and the last picture is a Tacori ring set alittle lower which I thought might be possible for mine.

This is another Tacori Rosebud that has the diamond alittle lower as a sample
Its the 3rd one in this picture

It''s beautiful, but I think it will look just as nice with the stone lower.

thank you for your nice comment.

My land, the Rosebud is deeee-lish!!! I think it will look just as lovely lowered, and will be much easier to wear. I like my ring heads lower, since you''ll be wearing it all the time, a lower head is I think a good idea; less whacking and catching on things.

Do you think I will need a lower head or can they just use this head and customize it to push the center diamond lower?
Like the Rosebud sits.

I think you will have to get the opinion of your jeweler. It looks like yours is different from the Rosebud in that your "U" is a double "U," Isn''t it? Would they lower the whole head? I do not think that they would lower the space between the two "U"s would they?

Oh, and I love your wallpaper! You sure do take clear pictures!

I thought they could just make the head prongs smaller, and lower the diamond.
I mean cut into the prongs, to make them not as tall, and then put the diamond
lower since the prongs would not be as tall.
I was hoping that might be possible instead of having a whole new head made.

I can''t really tell from your pictures, but if there is space between the bottom of your diamond and the bottom of the smaller U, they should be able to just seat it lower.

There''s a huge space between the bottom of cutlet, or the small U from the small U to the inside of shank.
In your opinion, how low can I go without jeopardizing the design. The lower the better for me, but
I don''t want to make it look bad either. What do you think would be best?
Can I go as low as the setting will allow me, or would it be better to not go so low, It''s
at 8 mm now from finger to top of stone.

Here is a picture.

Hi Carolyn,

Just wanted to let you know that mine is really low. It''s about 1mm from the bottom of the "tip" culet of the diamond to the "U".

If you want, I can take some close up shots (with my *new* camera) for your reference.

I stil think my ring looks spectacular - even though at first I was against lowering it!

Oh Laney, would you please take a picture for me. It''s so frustrating explaining to the jeweler what I want.
I know in my heart I want it lower, because it feels uncomfortable to me. I have two little children, etc..etc...
and I am very active cleaning, typing, etc...

Your rings looks so good, I almost wish now I went with the Rosebud because it appears like you can set
the diamond lower, but I do think mine can be set lower and not compromise the look.

If you would take a picture so I can show it to the jeweler, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again

Laney, How high is your center stone sitting. Mine from the finger to the top flat part of center stone is 8 mm.
Is yours quite a bit lower than that.?

Plus when I lower my diamond, it will kind of sit more inside the small U and large U really.
You won''t see the cutlet quite so much, do you think that will look ok?

Hi again,

Ok tonight I will take some pictures up close so that you can see. Mine is 6mm I from bottom of U (inside bottom of U) to top of table. So a little lower than yours.

That''s a crude measurement though

- using my see through ruler.

I too at first - didn''t think the setting would look right with it too low - but to my surprise I am really liking it lower. It gets in the way less than my previous setting and doesn''t look bad at all!

I''ll post pretty late this evening for you!

Hi Carolynw

Hope these pictures help! Here we go (BY THE WAY - took the pics w/o cleaning first...lol!)

don''t know which one will be best for you

I took these on black background - thinking that would be the best. but if you have another suggestion, I''d be happy to try again.

Good Luck tomorrow! I hope everthing works out ok for you!!!

Well, just decided with Tacori and my jeweler, that to set the diamond lower, its best to switch the head
to the one U, like the Rosebud style. So, i sent my diamond, setting and w-band to Tacori,
to put the Rosebud head on the Koala setting, and set the diamond lower.
Tacori thought it would look funny if the diamond was set lower with the double U head that is
made for the Koala. They suggested if i wanted a lower setting, to just switch the head to the Rosebud.
So, im going with that decision. Also, Tacori will now enlarge the two rings 1/4 size instead of
my jeweler, which im really happy about too. Hope it looks good when i get it.
The thickness of the double U, kind of bothered me actually, so im hoping with the one U,
and lower setting it will look nice, what do you think?

Great! I think it will look nice with a daintier head than the one it comes with. It''s good to hear that tacori is doing the work as well. I''m sure they''ll do a great job. The only bad thing is being w/o your ring.... How long will it take?

I''m so glad you agree the daintier head will look better from the Rosebud.
It will take about 2 weeks, but im fine with it because I couldnt'' wear
it anyway, because i needed it 1/4 size larger. I''m glad Tacori is doing
it as well. I really should have had them done the original, but my
jeweler said he could do it.

Do you think it will look ok without the two diamonds on the sides of the center?

Yes I do think it will look fine. The two side stones on the tacori aren''t big - infact they are just slightly larger than the band. So my ring doesn''t look like a three stone would - the small stones seem to draw the eye out - and it all looks like one big stone anyway.

I think you''ll like the new contour of your ring - especially if tacori is doing it - I''m sure they''ll make it look right!
