Opinions needed on these ACA's

Hey everyone! I'm stuck between these 3 choices from WF. They are all ACA's. I currently have a 1.86ct in color J and I want to get a better color grade since the yellow tint bothers me.

The 2.018ct has a yellow tint and the other two are more brown tint. Which one would you prefer and why? My setting will be platinum.

The rep told me that face up the color differences between the diamonds was difficult to tell.

TIA!!

Are you looking to hit the 2 ct. mark for sure? Because I worry that these stones would still be too tinted for you.

ETA: what's the inventory like right now with sub-2 ct. ACAs that's H or higher? And what's the cost difference would you say?

Agree with this! Depends how color sensitive you are, I color may still be too tinted for you. Larger stones tend to show more color, so it might be worthwhile also comparing a J, with I, H and G to see how much color difference you notice, if it bothers you or if you are going to be happy with the color improvement.

Between the three stones, the 2.168 I VS1 shows the least tint to my eyes. The yellow and brown in the other two stones is very obvious to me but I'm color sensitive.

Also, are you setting this in a platinum solitaire or a halo? Asking because if there are halo stones in higher colors around the center, you are more likely to notice tint.

The general rule of thumb I was told by my WF rep was that you need to change two color grades in order to be sure you'll notice a difference. She also told me it is very hard to tell the difference between a J and an I once set.

You can always try an I as a stepping stone but I think you'll need to go to a H or even a G if the J is bothering you. I don't think those I's will be much different from a J but I could be wrong. Have you compared the videos of those stones to you current stone and can you tell a major difference from the side view in the brilliance video?

From personal experience though I do know that the cost difference between grades at that size is not minimal so it's a tough decision!

OP, you say the yellow tint bothers you. So is it that you see some color in the current stone, or is it because the color you see is yellow? If it is because you just don't like yellow and not that any tint would bother you, then I'd go with the 2.16 with the faint brown. But if seeing any sort of color is the issue, I agree, you will probably need to go to at least an H.

Thanks everyone for their input.

@AnastasiaBeaverhausen I thought I was OK with my 1.86 but after wearing it for 2 weeks I'd like to go for 2. The current inventory on WF for 1.90-1.99 for H is non existent sadly..

@Lookinagain My current J is showing yellow on the side view so I would like to see a bit less of yellow. The setting is platinum solitaire and it's set med-high, so I do see the side of the diamond often. I'm color sensitive but I'm not too concerned, just wanted it to be a bit less noticeable. I wasn't aware of the brown undertone until I see these diamonds and I'm not sure which tit I'm attracted to more. I did research on PS and found that people either like brown or yellow, no in between. Some said that brown tint can make the diamond face up whiter but could affect the brightness.

@Decision_Decisions I'm really considering biting the bullet for a G/H. This is so tough!

Drats. Sorry it's slim pickings right now. I think WF does some kind if custom cut/sourcing for folks. Can't remember the details, but that might be worth exploring.

Thanks again everyone for their input!

I ended up with a 1.83ct H VS1  Will be saving towards a 2ct G-H in the future!

That's so exciting! Please report back and let us know what you think about the color difference between the J and H when you get it.
