Opinions on these diamonds?

Hi, jukixel, I like the specs and looks of the second one better.

You have a pretty good budget of around $8000, have you thought about checking out Whiteflash (additional $100 off when you sign up on their site)?

Here's an 0.914 F VS2 Expert Selection.
Same lifetime upgrade benefits as their ACA line...perfect light return and H&A. The only thing keeping it out of ACA spec is the MBF, and that's something you can contact them and ask if it affect transparency and light return when exposed to UV, but that's pretty rare.

If you are OK moving up to a G-H color, then that will get you to the illustrious 1 carat mark in their ACA line:

I was going to say the first one is whiter, but the second one have the better performance.

Thanks for the response! While I would love to purchase from WhiteFlash, my boyfriend does not want to purchase the diamond online without viewing it first. Therefore my options are limited. For the two diamonds that I posted, I will actually be attempting to buy them from a local store instead of Blue Nile.

For the two diamonds listed, are there any noticeable issues? Will they be eye clean within a few inches of viewing? What about the HCA score? I’m not sure how to access HCA…it tells me I have no trials left. Thanks!

I prefer the second stone. The 35 crown goes better with the 40.6 pavilion and even though they both have 80% lower halves
the arrows on the second stone look wider and not so splintery.

Hi, jukixel...If it is any consolation to your boyfriend: Whiteflash will be extremely accommodating and take any pictures and videos in whatever lighting conditions you wish for your heart's desire so that you can see exactly how their guaranteed super ideal cut diamonds perform.
They also have a great return policy and amongst the best upgrade policy in the industry (including 50% trade value for many of their settings!), so all guesswork is eliminated.

If you still want to stick local, then definitely take a closer look at the second diamond that you posted about...and be sure to get advanced images (ASET or Ideal-Scope) to assess light return and performance so that you can compare with pinnacle diamonds from sellers such as Whiteflash, Brian Gavin, Victor Canera, CBI, JannPaul, etc.
Good hunting and we're here for any additional help and advice that you need or want.

I gotta agree with my friend DejaWhiz. You can see videos, pictures, ASET of diamonds you find on premier diamond sites. If you don't like it, return it typically just for the cost of return shipping. I've done it, and I have to admit it was kinda scary at first, but as long as you do your homework, you'll be fine. I've purchased super nice diamonds online and never had an issue. On thing I DO have is a spreadsheet of dozens of possible diamonds before I make a decision! The more you see/evaluate, the better decision you'll make. Also, DejaWhiz makes a good point about color: Going from an F to a G will probably get you above 1 carat (the magic number).

Good luck with your hunt and tell us what your decision is/was!
