Hi everyone,
Coming out of lurker mode to ask for opinions on this diamond from JA. (For me, not an engagement ring.) It's a Forevermark branded diamond, which I think is pretty cool - although I've seen some Forevermark diamonds on eBay that were absolute dogs, so not sure how much weight it holds with regard to quality... Anyway, if I had an unlimited budget, I'd buy a super ideal cut 1.0 ct D IF with medium/strong blue fluorescence. Just as a personal goal. Alas, I do have a budget, so I compromised a little (for now) on carat, clarity, and color, but I gotta have the fluorescence.
As far as the cut goes, does this look like it will have great light performance? Super ideal or close? Any concerns?
There was a 360 video on the JA website, but it appears to have been disabled after I purchased the diamond (haven't received it yet, can return). This is their still-shot from the video; either this is not completely dead-on centered, or there is some slight asymmetry... I'm hoping it's just the still shot?
I asked JA for an ASET but the rep said that one was not available for this diamond. I asked for an IS since I know they have it in hand now for setting, and they said they will get back to me in 24-48 hours. Hopefully I can update with that.
Aaand I just realized this is a dossier, not a full report, so doesn't include a clarity plot. Ugh. Well, I don't remember seeing anything on the 360 view.
As I understand it, Whiteflash and most other super ideal vendors don't offer in-house fluorescent diamonds. Brian Gavin has his Blue line, but every time I check his (small) inventory, it's either lower colors/clarities than I prefer or just way out of budget. I wish more super ideal vendors offered fluorescent options. That being said, I've never reached out to any of them about it; maybe it's something they'd be willing to do - but then budget comes into play again, so I don't want to waste anyone's time.
