I got this silk damask sample through from the historical silk manufacturers today and wondered what you all think.
As it's silk it's incredibly difficult to get it to look right even scanned from how it is in real life.
The gold bits are a light yellowy gold, and the background is a pale yellowish oyster. The colours are much closer than they look in the photo - and it really gleams in the way silk does (but not in photos!
) It is NOT the pinky purply colour it looks on my monitor! Grrrr
At first, I was thinking it would be better for the underskirt and then have a paler damask - say oyster and either white/ivory/cream.
Now, I'm wondering is I should use this as the top fabric and have an even deeper gold as the underskirt.
It is gorgeous fabric and a really good weight - but I can like fabric in the way I can like rocks (in a box to take out and play with every now and then)
