Opinions on this lavender jade?

Hello all,

I shouldn't be shopping for stones but ever since I missed that beautiful lavender jade last year I've been regretting it so much and wishing for a jade just like it.

I found this one which has even tone, but maybe not as icy?

But anyway I would love to know your thoughts on it and if you think I should dish out on it before someone else does and I regret it again.

Do you like the colour? I feel like it is more grey blue than Lavender.

I do like the color, but you're right! it is more greyish blue than lavender. I like the color a lot but I want lavender. What do you guys think of these ones? I'm leaning towards the first one but also curious what you all think of the 2nd one.

Both are lovely! Just depends on which shape you like! I’m a green fiend so would probably go for the greener second piece but the first might have slightly better water?

I think it depends on what color/shape you like and are willing to spend. If you have your heart set on lavendar I don't think you should settle, there's plenty out there! Between the green ones I would probably lean towards the second one as it has a lovely green, but really it's all about your preferences Hope you find your dream jade soon!

By water do you mean translucency? Or shine? I do like the droplet shape and center color!

I think it depends on what color/shape you like and are willing to spend. If you have your heart set on lavendar I don't think you should settle, there's plenty out there! I like both lavender and green. I'm saving my money for the "perfect" lavender and I don't mind a cheaper green right now. I do like the 2nd one a lot but I have reservations bc the price is high and I've been spending a lot, which why I'm leaning more on the first one, and it has both green and lavender. I might subconsciously see the water that mellowyellowgirl is mentioning too.

If I had an easy 6k to drop this is one of many dream pieces.

OMG she has so many beautiful jade I can't choose! All my ideal ones are faaar above my budget. A few I would've bought are sold ! Now I'm having trouble between the above two and a couple of hers!

I can see it as lilac too. The seller has no return info. It's hard to tell the color and not as glossy and translucent as I like so I've decided to put it in my wishlist and hope I can get it later.

@Shijitake I know the feeling! Kathy Jade has so many pieces, I usually have 10 items in my basket at any one time. However, I buy most of my jadeite in person because even small differences in hue or texture can have a big impact on price. I agree with @Daisys and Diamonds about the return policy. I think it is vital when you are buying online. Kathy Jade has a 10-day return. period. I have bought five (lower priced) items from them. I returned one becausw the colour was duller than I expected.

Thanks Crimson! That website has beautiful jade but the jewelry is too fancy for me! 10 items in your cart isn't much, I had 50 halfway through looking their entire stock! You're right about that. There will always be more, and I'm surprised there are more imperial or near imperial jade than I thought there would be.

Thank you! I hope so too. I chose it over a super glossy emerald green jade pendant from Kathy that was just slightly more, but I decided to go with the peas for a few reasons. Now that pendant sold and I'm kinda sad. I had a lot more in the wishlist before google decided to malfunction and not save them. I can't help it, when I see shiny stones and glossy jade my eyes drool and I just want to buy them all! There's only a handful that I must absolutely have but they're all high priced. My budget is sadly small right now.

Btw, does Kathy have sales often?

I wish I could see everything in person. Her items colors look different on my laptop from my phone.

Heck why not do it in this lifetime! I hope to have several in my collection!

In fact I'm wondering if I should buy this one. It's a low price of $100. It's small though, only about 1.5 cm.
