Another newbie here! I've been reading here for a while, and finally decided to register and ask a question.

I have an opportunity to buy this pair of earrings (set in 14K white gold martini) for $1800. Can you experts tell me if this is a decent pair of earrings for the price or do I need to look elsewhere? I'm looking for something that is pretty, for everyday wear, and sparkly. I set a limit of $2000 for a pair of earrings.

why did the second one get an AGS 1, did it say? Light performance, proportions?

I'm not sure? The only information I have is from the AGS certificate.

Nothing? No One?

I tried looking for some other pairs at a couple of the PS vendors, but I got overwhelmed. When I found some where I thought they were better/nicer.... the HCA was not good at all.

Yes, I am looking! I think you can do better. Those seem expensive to be AGS1 and SI2 clarity.

Here is a .35 H VS2 AGS0 for light performance at $756. All you have to do is call them and ask them to find you a match in H VS2-SI1. You should be able to do it for less than the pair you posted and end up with a better quality pair of diamonds. GOG does upgrades as well.

And incidentally, you do not use the HCA on AGS graded stones. You want AGS0 (ideal) for light performance). If GOG finds a GIA matching stone, they will check light performance for you.

I agree with Diamondseeker.

Ohhhhh! I thought you put the stats of any diamond in the HCA!

Thank you! I'll give the a call. So would GOG be the best place to buy small studs? (I love their videos and his accent! lol!)

Assuming the second diamond would be close in price... I could even upgrade to platinum for the setting.

I know I've seen in some of the posts where some of the vendor's offer PS discounts... is GOG one of those?
