The color looks lovely! As @glitterata pointed out, the stone is quite heavy (deep pavilion). So just understand that the length and width have been reduced accordingly. If you found a better proportioned sapphire in this weight, it would appear larger. But if this doesn't bother you, then I see no reason to not purchase it. :)

The stone will sit very high when mounted because of 6.2MM depth. It is a very deep stone so will it still fit in your setting?
7.8MM is approximately 1.75 carats in a round when cut to diamond proportions. What is the carat weight of the stone?

If you have a setting high enough I like tje color!

Update - it's here! It was very reasonable for unheated Ceylon. The seller is a private person who got it for an engagement ring that never came to life. I didn't ask more details.

I'm so glad you're pleased with the color! For some reason, the photos of the mounting are rather small on my end and I can't see too much detail. Is the girdle of the gem sitting about where the "crook" in the prongs is?

This is the only photo that worries me a little... looks like the girdle and crown are above the prongs? But that could just be the perspective causing that illusion.

Beautiful stone and I agree with Autumn. Every picture looks like it fits except the one she extracted.

Can your bench tweak the ring a little? My bench in Australia is pretty good and they can do small adjustments to wiggle the ring in.

Ah yes... ok, that's what I thought we were seeing. So he can certainly raise the prongs, but I might also have him "bow" the basket a little to make the stone actually sit lower. Because it's going to be quite high as it is right now. Let us know what he thinks!

I love the color. Blue with lighter blue flashes is what I prefer in my sapphires. And I love the setting too.

That color is stunning! Congrats on a great find :kiss2:

Beautiful stone and setting! I hope you can make the setting work.

It's a beautiful stone. It's a beautiful setting. I don't think the stone fits the setting. I hope your jeweler disagrees, but I think that lovely giraffe might need a custom setting.
