Thoughts? Opinions? I have my own, but am curious to hear what others think. Have asked my partner for his thoughts, but he''s colourblind. He thought the stone was definitely plain, clear blue, no violets at all
I''m pretty sure I know who the cutter is, but I could be wrong. If it is cut by who I think it is than you can expect it to be a very well cut stone. The color is really soft and subtle, a periwinkle kind of color, not a typical blue. I think it would make a great piece of jewelry.
Freke: Don''t know other specs yet, just that it''s 1.15 carats. No idea about clarity. Hanging out to find out the size, though I''m estimating that it''s in the range I was looking (I wanted something about 6mm in length and width, I''m wildly guessing this will be about 5mm x 6mm?). Little, but it''ll be halo-ed up, and I want a practical size.
I loooooove the cut though. Love.
Right now on my work computer it''s a lovely violet-ish colour. Home laptop seems to suck the colour right out *sigh* Also hanging out to get pictures in the sun to see how blue it goes.
I understand your concern for an e-ring. I too don''t like grays in any gemstones. You can ask him to send you the stone for your personal review and if you don''t like it, return it for a refund. I know the cutter and he understands how PC monitors don''t always show the true colour.
It''s very pretty but it looks quite lavender on my monitor. Not blue at all. I wonder what it truly looks like. Are you looking for blue or more lavender/violet?
Well, it's a colour change, and this is (I think) the purple side.
I was looking for a colour change not too dark. So, I guess both Catmom! I want something that wanders around that line where you can't decide whether it's blue or purple. I guess this runs a little more to the lavender/ violet side than that (at least in this pic) but getting hold of a (well cut) colour change/ colour shift has been nigh-on impossible!
Chrono: I know I can do that, and it may well be the route I have to take. But I'm in Australia, and it just takes so *long* to receive/ send back anything, not to mention the cost of insured shipping!
