Opinions on this warm colored diamond

I'd describe it as a "bone " color

I have a k color engagement ring and find the color quite inviting. But each person needs to decide that on their own. Can you go to a store that sells well cut gia or ags stones and compare?

I also have a K engagement ring (0.8 carat). I can notice the color - but I am looking for it, my husband can't tell anything. It looks a little buttery (faint yellow) at times - especially because it is set in white gold and has pave diamonds of higher color next to it. Even though it is slightly noticeable to me, it was worth it to get a larger stone.

A 1.5 carat diamond might show the color more than a smaller diamond. It's really your preference...There's nothing wrong with a touch of color. You just have to decide if you'll notice the color (which you likely will) and if it will drive you nuts. You can see some photos of K colored rings https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/show-me-your-k-colored-diamonds.112476/. Good old Gold also has some youtube videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziZ1S8ZlZEE that compare diamond color that I found helpful when deciding to go with a K or not. Good luck!

this might be obvious, but when you compare and look at colors in stones be sure to look at the cut/shape you are considering.
I find the cut style really makes a difference in how the color shows.

You really need to see well cut AGS or GIA graded stones to decide. As you've seen here, some people like the color. There's others among us who don't.

I have a 1ct K H&A stone set in a pendant. It's absolutely gorgeous. But Niels assessment is dead on, it's a more of a bone color.

It's not a color that I would prefer, but it's really a matter of personal opinion.

I have a K color AVC and it looks brilliant.. even from the side, mine is set in a pendant. I think most K colored stone people would say if the stone AGS 0 you have hard time seeing any yellow.. I am out of town and my pendant is in the safe deposit box but when I get back I am going to try and take a good pix of my pendant. After having this stone I would not go below and L/M or above I in the AGS 0 stones.. they are just so well cut.

my pendant stone is a 1.33 carat AGS 0 GOG AVC diamond.. I love it.

They're all white, it just depends on whether you like "cold" white vs "cool" white vs "neutral" white vs "buttery" white, etc. Whatever you choose, I wouldn't suggest you get one hoping that it'll "pass" for another. If you really want a crisp/cold white, don't buy an H or I in hopes that it'll look like a D or E because you'll end up being disappointed.

If you like the look of a diamond that happens to be a "K" and you LOVE it, then get it because you'll be thrilled (and it'll be white, just not a cold/crisp white). If however you like a more neutral or cooler white, then you should stick w/ colors above J, otherwise you'll be looking for the warmth/tint/etc in every lighting situtation, at every angle, and at some point you'll find it and obsess on it.
